KTM X-Bow GT-XR, the new road-legal supercar
This version of the supercar is designed to move on roads and city streets, with features built for that purpose.

The Austrian manufacturer KTM has presented the latest iteration of the KTM X-Bow GT-XR, its supercar designed for the track. But the difference of this variant over the rest is the vehicle’s road homologation, allowing it to be used on the road. Obviously, work has been done to maximise its track performance, but it has become a car capable of moving on conventional streets and roads.
This car is built with a monocoque chassis made of carbon fibre and a high-strength tubular steel frame. All of this keeps the vehicle’s weight at around 1,130 kg. The engine powering this supercar is a five-cylinder, 2.5-litre block, capable of delivering 550 CV, reaching it at 6,350 rpm, and a maximum torque of 581 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

The engine is paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox that sends torque to the rear axle through a limited-slip differential. With these figures, it is no surprise that the 0-100 km/h acceleration takes 3.4 seconds and that its top speed is set at 280 km/h.

Road homologated
So that this vehicle can be used on roads and city streets, KTM has fitted a 96-litre fuel tank, electronically assisted progressive power steering and, as an option, a 9.5-centimetre hydraulic lift so it can move along the road without problems.
The aerodynamics, on the other hand, are designed for the track. The large rear wing, the rear diffuser and the front splitter create an aerodynamic bubble that helps keep the car planted to the ground and allows it to move with ease over the most demanding asphalt.
The brakes consist of eight-piston blocks in lightweight steel and electric rotors. In addition, if the buyer wants greater braking control, ceramic brakes are available. The suspension is signed by Sachs, and wheels with a centre-lock hub are an option for greater control.
In the cabin we find a detachable steering wheel, a set of digital gauges, adjustable pedals, an audio system with Bluetooth, LED lighting, air conditioning and even a small glovebox. The rear camera system is offered as an option, so it is ready for everyday use.
That said, the price of this variant sits at 285,000 euros and 100 units are planned to be built per year.
