Lamborghini Revuelto: Sant'Agata's first electrified supercar sees the light of day

The new Revuelto enters the scene with a naturally aspirated V12 engine, three electric motors and an all-wheel-drive system to transfer the 1,015 CV it produces to the ground

Following the latest previews of the first hybrid V12 HPEV supercar, the new Lamborghini Revuelto has finally arrived, a vehicle that represents a milestone in the history of Lamborghini and that is presented promising a level of performance, sportiness and driving pleasure like no other Lamborghini has ever delivered to date.

The new Lamborghini Revuelto features a new design, highly efficient aerodynamics and a new carbon fibre monocoque that allow it to offer the best power-to-weight ratio in the history of Lamborghini: 1.75 kg/CV, combined with the impressive pairing of the new combustion engine producing 128 CV/litre with three front axial-flux fully electric motors.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini, has stated that the new Revuelto was born to break the mould, combining the new 12-cylinder engine with a hybrid technology system to create the perfect balance between delivering the emotion that the brand’s customers traditionally demand, along with the need to reduce emissions.

A design based on iconic models of the past

Starting with its design, the new Revuelto features an entirely new design language, yet it does not lose a single ounce of its DNA, taking as its reference for its design the emblematic models such as the 1971 Countach and the legendary Diablo.

The new Sant’Agata supercar features a new Y-shaped light signature, along with a very sharp front end shaped like a shark’s nose, a carbon fibre bonnet, fins that channel airflow along the sides, scissor doors and a rear end whose radical look stands out thanks to the new bumper, Y-shaped rear lights, the spoiler, the hexagonal twin exhausts and the fully exposed V12 engine.

Better habitability and greater rigidity

From the side view, the Revuelto now combines a roof with more headroom, along with a high level of aerodynamic qualities. Its large black wheels and pronounced side contours give this supercar an unmistakably Lamborghini look.

In terms of aerodynamics, the new Revuelto offers 33% more aerodynamic downforce at the front and 74% more at the rear than an Aventador Ultimae, which represents a huge improvement in performance and stability at high speeds.

A highly technological interior

Inside, Lamborghini has sought to offer a experience that is both digital and physical, with plenty of carbon fibre, a design the brand describes as “spaceship-like” thanks to its central air vents, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen in vertical orientation for the infotainment system, a 12.3-inch one for the digital instrument cluster and a 9.1-inch one on the passenger side of the dashboard.

The steering wheel of the new Revuelto features four rotor-shaped selectors that allow us to control the driving modes, the suspension lift system or the rear spoiler angle, not forgetting the indicator buttons or the launch control in case we feel like having a bit of fun.

Always connected

The complete multimedia system of the new hybrid supercar from Lamborghini is updated over the air, and we can also connect to the vehicle remotely via the Lamborghini Unica app to check all the vehicle data, such as fuel level, battery charge and electric range, or to lock and unlock the doors.

Moving on to its propulsion system, the Lamborghini Revuelto features the new V12 engine rotated 180º to mate with the new gearbox. Directly above the latter, a rear electric motor with 150 CV is fitted, which works as both a generator and a starter motor.

Variable power

On the front axle, Lamborghini has fitted two electric motors -one on each axle- with oil cooling, each producing 190 CV, which allow energy to be recovered during cornering and braking and offer better cornering traction depending on traction requirements.

The Revuelto’s power output varies depending on the selected driving mode, ranging from 180 CV when driving in 100% electric mode, to 886 CV if we select the Strada programme, 907 CV with Sport mode activated, and up to 1,015 CV with Corsa mode activated. With these figures, the Revuelto is capable of achieving 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and 0-200 km/h in under 7 seconds.

The Revuelto also features three configuration modes for battery management: Recharge, Hybrid and Performance. With all of this, we have a total of 13 dynamic settings to bring out the different personalities depending on the situation or the type of road we are driving on.

A new paradigm for the brand

As for its weight distribution, the unprecedented layout of its architecture allows a 44% front and 56% rear weight distribution, which delivers a perfect balance that makes the Revuelto genuinely agile and effective on twisty bends.

Finally, Lamborghini has implemented for the first time a fully comprehensive ADAS system, with features such as Active Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
