Manhart MHX5 700, the new project from the German tuner
Manhart never fails to surprise us with its vehicle customisation projects, and now we can enjoy the version of the BMW X5 it has just unveiled.

Last year, the tuner Manhart presented its version of the BMW X5 Competition, which it called Manhart MHX5 800. This variant raised the output of the base model to 812 CV and its peak torque to a spectacular 1,080 Nm. But now that level seems too high for many of its customers, so it has launched a slightly more restrained version, which it has named Manhart MHX5 700.
The model Manhart has worked on, the BMW X5 Competition, has a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that normally produces 625 CV and 750 Nm of torque. With the modifications made to this variant, power rises to 730 CV and peak torque reaches 900 Nm. A little below the previous variant, but just as enjoyable.

Engine modifications
To achieve this increase in power, Manhart can fit the MHtronik auxiliary control unit or carry out modifications directly to the engine ECU. In addition, it has made some modifications to the exhaust, which is made of stainless steel and features valve control and four 100 mm outlets.

For customers who want more, competition downpipes without catalytic converters, Manhart OPF Delete stainless steel pipes and other upgrades that add a real edge to the vehicle’s transformation can be fitted. But there are further modifications to the model.
Other improvements
The transformed model sits on H & R height-adjustable coil springs, which help increase control and lower the vehicle’s ride height a little further. The wheels have been swapped for 23×11-inch black ones, which reinforce the vehicle’s powerful look.
On the bodywork, other modifications have been added, such as a carbon-fibre bonnet with large air outlets, a front splitter, two-piece side skirts and a diffuser with fog lights, also made from the same material. Inside, Manhart-specific gearshift paddles have been fitted, along with a carbon-fibre steering wheel rim and other elements specific to the brand.
