Presented the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport in Los Angeles
Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport: the finishing touch to the seventh-generation 911
We have seen Porsche that are wild, very wild and extreme, but the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is one of the most radical Porsche ever built.
Based on the brutal Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the new track weapon for customers of Porsche is another unicorn among the eight generations of the “nine-eleven” so far, following yesterday’s presentation in Los Angeles of the new Porsche 911.
Also from the US comes this Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, whose name means nothing other than “for the track.” With Clubsport we have already seen other radical versions of the Porsche 911.

A Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport for the track only
This Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is built on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and is assembled around the twin-turbo flat-six engine which, as with the recently revived track car new Porsche 935, produces a staggering 700 CV. All that power is sent to the rear axle, whose tyres have a contact patch of 310 mm of rubber, managed by a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox optimised for racetrack use.
So much so that the department in Weissach has gone all out to offer one of the most succulent products for the most racing-minded customers.
For that reason, without giving up driver-assistance systems such as PSM (Porsche Stability Management) stability control, ABS and traction control, this car is equipped with all the safety and equipment features of a racing car.
As with the Porsche GT3 RS with Weissach package, the seats, harnesses, fire extinguisher, roll bars… everything available to protect the driver to the maximum and to pursue a weight-reduction regime: from the original 1,545 kg it registers 1,390 kg on the scale. This is also thanks to lightweight elements in the bodywork such as aluminium and CFRP (carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer), used in parts like the bonnet, which has racing specifications, along with 18-inch one-piece wheels made from a lighter material.

But if the interior has the atmosphere of a racing car, the exterior could easily be mistaken for a version halfway between the Porsche 911 GT3 RS from the Porsche Supercup and versions such as the Porsche 911 RSR, and even the finish of the Porsche 918 Spyder, thanks to the Martini Racing colours.
Although the chassis is based on that of the production car, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport’s bodywork is larger. This is not merely a visual impression: the length goes from 4,549 mm to 4,743 mm and the width from 1,880 mm to 1,978 mm. Everything is dominated by a rear wing whose effectiveness is as brutal as its presence.
The exclusive McPherson strut suspension features a configuration adapted to circuits, with electro-mechanical adjustment matched to the steering’s turning radius.
And if you have a 700 CV Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport with “everything at the back,” it is essential to have a braking system capable of making deceleration as effective as a complete stop. On the front axle, the 6-piston calipers include racing pads that grip a 390 mm diameter disc; at the rear they are no less imposing: 4-piston calipers pressing on a 380 mm surface.

A Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport for the track only
With just 200 units to be built, this Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport has been offered to very exclusive customers: people connected to the brand and to driving sport, whose understanding of the philosophy of car use coincides with the sporting bond that Porsche has always shown with motor racing.
