Subaru XV 2015: interior and chassis adjustments

Subaru has applied an update to the XV in order to strengthen all those areas that could be improved, which will allow it to be more competitive in the SUV market. Among the changes made by the Japanese manufacturer is a renewed interior, with a new infotainment system, adjustments to the chassis to improve ride comfort, as well as to the suspension and steering, while new insulation and soundproofing have been applied to reduce the noise levels produced and reaching the cabin.
Specifically, the interior of the Subaru XV 2015 has greater refinement and, according to the company, higher quality, thanks to a new LCD instrument cluster with blue dials and new graphics, metallic trim and piano black finishes on the dashboard, steering wheel, centre console and armrest. For the automatic versions, the selector lever has a new design, and for the top trims, the latest 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system will now be available, after being presented on the Subaru Outback earlier this year.

Other changes come to the Subaru XV 2015, this time less visible but equally necessary. The suspension has been improved to offer a smoother ride than previous versions, while the rear shock absorbers are now stiffer to improve stability in corners. The steering rack is up to 10% faster than the pre-facelift model, with 2.8 turns lock to lock, and the front crossmember has also been reinforced to improve response.
In terms of soundproofing, and continuing Subaru’s improvement of noise levels, the XV 2015 receives more soundproofing material throughout the car, improving cabin comfort, with new insulation under the bonnet, a new floor sealing to reduce sound transmission and more noise-absorbing materials in the front and rear seats. The engine range will remain unchanged, with 2.0-litre four-cylinder horizontally opposed petrol and diesel engines.
