The BMW M2 escapes ahead of schedule and reveals its spectacular stance

BMW offers its customers a complete range of sporty models designed by the specialists of the ///M division.

However, one of the most anticipated and sought-after models was not yet among us, until now, the moment when the spectacular look of the M2, the smallest member of the family, is finally revealed.

The BMW M2 completes the 2 Series range in its Coupé variants, which until now was crowned by the M235i, an intermediate version between a “traditional” model and a full M. It is an increasingly used solution by the German manufacturer, which already has an excellent range of “tuned” models by M, such as the M550d or the more recent X4 M40i.

The M2 now sits at the summit, with a truly spectacular look, befitting a true M. Without a doubt, it catches the eye from miles away, and it can truly be seen as a “mini M4”, except that being even smaller, it looks even wider and more imposing.

The front stands out for its glorious air intakes, large, functional and necessary to properly cool all the mechanical components of the assembly. The front and rear wings have been widened to accommodate the 19″ wheels, very similar to those of the current M3/M4.

At the rear we find a newly designed bumper with a perfectly integrated diffuser from which protrude (as is customary on the ///M models) four round exhaust outlets , which will surely emit a sound that is, at the very least… sporty. No details of the interior are known yet, but it will surely be possible to fit at least some semi-bucket seats, as well as carbon fibre and leather details.

Mechanically, the M2 is a true powerhouse thanks to its 3-litre, six-cylinder inline engine, turbocharged by a TwinScroll (twin-entry) turbo coupled to a transmission that can be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic. It delivers no more and no less than 370 CV and 465 NM, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
