Grecale Maserati Electric Cars SUV
The Maserati Grecale Folgore 2026 eliminates all-wheel drive... if you don't need it
The Maserati Grecale Folgore enters 2026 with a new variant that improves performance and incorporates systems that make driving more enjoyable.

The electric SUV of Maserati enters 2026 with significant changes to its configuration. One of the most important innovations in this version of the premium vehicle is the elimination of the all-wheel drive system when it is not in use. When it is not needed, the driver can make the drive pass entirely to the rear axle. In this way, the consumption of energy stored in the battery is reduced and, consequently, range increases.
With rear-wheel drive, a range of 580 kilometres can be reached, which makes it a very attractive model for drivers and users. The transition between all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive takes place in just 500 milliseconds, with a system that decouples the front axle from the drive shafts.

With this system, a more effective disconnection than other systems is achieved, which only decouple the drive through the motor or the differential. In this way, energy savings are more efficient and the vehicle behaves better. The intelligent traction control uses a network of sensors and advanced algorithms that process thousands of parameters per second.
With this system, data is recorded on the demand for torque, brake temperature, road characteristics, the selected driving mode and other parameters that allow it to know whether the car needs all-wheel drive or whether rear-wheel drive is sufficient. If the front axle needs to provide torque, it connects it and makes it take part in the drive.

Battery preconditioning system
The battery needs to be at an adequate temperature and ready to be active in order to receive energy at a fast-charging point. Therefore, when a route is set with a charging point along the way, before arriving there, the battery reaches the appropriate temperature to charge in the most efficient way.
The air conditioning can be controlled remotely thanks to the app Maserati Connect. This function allows the driver to find the cabin conditioned to the desired temperature when getting into the vehicle. Regarding route planning, the Grecale Folgore uses the EV Routing system.
This calculates the route using data obtained from the navigation system. It takes into account the distance, the existence of charging points and the driving style, which has been recorded on previous journeys. The system displays a map showing the exact and real range remaining, so the driver can make decisions regarding the route.
Range options and finishes
The Maserati Grecale Folgore comes in several finishes, depending on the tastes and needs of the buyer. It offers a total of 32 body colours, six of which debut with this new variant. There are also five wheel designs, one of them specific to the electric model.
Inside, you will find very high-quality materials with a design focused on comfort. The interior options offered by the Fuoriserie programme are very attractive, with Pelle Ghiaccio Premium, Sport Leather Nero/Rosso and Sport Leather Nero/Giallo finishes, as well as eight Fuoriserie seat options.
This 2026 version of the Grecale Folgore offers a combination of performance, comfort and energy efficiency that allows the brand to advance in premium electric mobility.
