If there is an iconic commercial vehicle, it is the legendary Bulli, the van from Volkswagen that has evolved from generation to generation, becoming more modern and one of the light commercial vehicles preferred by everyone. Currently, the Volkswagen Transporter is in its sixth generation, and before giving way to a new generation, the entire range of vans under this umbrella will receive an update that will keep it at the top of the market, just as it has done until now.

The changes that are immediately visible affect the front design of the model. It now features a larger air intake, and decorative details have been modified to give the model more visual impact. But it is inside where Volkswagen has clearly worked to make this model much more modern and efficient. The cabin features a Digital Cockpit, which turns the instruments into a digital screen and provides more immediate access to information.

The MIB3 infotainment system allows access to smartphone apps and becomes the best way to receive information and manage the audio systems and other entertainment applications. In addition, it has its own SIM card, so you won’t have to rely on your smartphone to stay connected. Regarding driver assistance systems, the new versions of the vans from Volkswagen will feature a crosswind assist system, which automatically stabilises the vehicle if it detects crosswinds.

There are other systems that can be used to improve driving in the vans from Volkswagen included in this new version. The lane change warning system, and Park Assist, which means the driver only needs to watch the accelerator and brake. To make towing easier, it also features Trailer Assist, which helps tow the trailer more safely.

In addition to a long list of driving technology, the engines of the new Volkswagen have also been retuned. The 2.0-litre diesel engines offer consumption figures that comply with the Euro-6d-TEMP-EVAP standard. The entry-level engine now delivers 90 CV, while the top version reaches 199 CV. The versions with 150 CV and 199 CV can be fitted with a DSG dual-clutch transmission. As a novelty, an electric version with 112 CV will also be available, with battery packs ranging from 38.8 kWh to 77.6 kWh, offering a range of around 400 kilometres.
