The solid-state battery from the Chery Group promises a range of 1,500 kilometres
The presentation of the solid-state battery developed by the Chery Group will allow the Omoda and Jaecoo models to travel up to 1,000 km.

One of the major problems facing electric mobility is the capacity of the batteries fitted to electric cars. Little by little, battery capacity is improving and this problem is gradually fading. In addition, there is better charging infrastructure, which means we no longer depend solely on battery capacity.
The Chery Group has just unveiled a battery that promises we can forget about recharging on long journeys, so there could be a significant change in how this type of vehicle is manufactured. This solid-state battery technology offers a much higher energy density than any other type of battery currently on the market.

This battery module offers a density of 600 Wh/kg, which will allow the standard for electric mobility to change on a global scale. The development of this battery was led by the Solid-State Battery Research Institute of Chery. Its design features a combination of state-of-the-art solid materials and advanced lithium and manganese compounds. As a result, energy density, safety and thermal stability are considerably improved.
The safety of the battery is guaranteed thanks to the tests it has undergone. These include even physical impacts, such as nail penetration or drilling with power tools. In no case did fires or smoke emissions occur, and it continued delivering energy without interruption.
Although it has been announced that vehicles equipped with this battery will be able to travel around 1,500 kilometres on a single charge, forecasts indicate that they will be able to cover around 1,000 kilometres without problems. The battery is scheduled to reach the market in 2027, so we will not have to wait long to learn more about it.
