Theon Design unveils its latest creation, with the Porsche 911 (964) as the star

The English firm Theon Design shows its latest commissioned project, a tastefully done restomod based on a Porsche 911 (964)

That the Porsche 911 (964) has become a great base for all kinds of modifications is a fact, and companies such as Singer are a clear example of this, although we also have another one in the English firm Theon Design, which shows us its latest project. It is a restomod with a subtle touch, enough to set it apart from the original model without forgetting it entirely, with the 911 (964) obviously remaining the star.

As with most of its work, this Porsche 911 (964) has required around 6,000 hours of development, including the close discussions between the Theon Design team and the owner of the donor vehicle. And if you thought the work of Akira Nakai was exclusive and rare, Theon Design’s is no less so: only six people in the world will have a car built by this Oxfordshire firm, for a starting price of £430,000 excluding the car, taxes and delivery.

In this new and exclusive project, the craftsmen at Theon Design have fitted this Porsche 911 (964) with a body made entirely of carbon fibre, painted in a grey they call Crayon Grey, with contrasting details in Lizard Green. This last colour is also applied to the RS brake calipers, which sit behind 17-inch wheels finished in a combination of anthracite and black. The ensemble is rounded off by tinted glass, chrome details and a special treatment for the surface of the Porsche logo; and we must not forget that the original steel doors remain unchanged, preserving the feel of a classic 911.

If we now open the doors of this Porsche 911 (964), we find an interior that continues with a colour palette similar to the exterior, combined with more modern materials. This is the case with the carbon fibre used on the interior door panels, which in turn are upholstered in Liquorice-coloured leather with Lizard Green stitching, a colour combination also applied to the Recaro RS sports seats. Continuing with the colours, the instrument panel gauges feature a unique colour combination that connects directly with the exterior, using the Crayon Grey and Lizard Green of the bodywork.

Mechanically, the Porsche 911 (964) has been fitted with a naturally aspirated 4,000 cc flat-four engine, as one would expect, producing 421 CV, managed by a MoTeC ECU and PDM system. It has also received carbon fibre components to reduce its weight, and an electronic throttle with driving modes such as Raucous, which unleashes maximum power, raises the rear spoiler for greater downforce and makes the exhaust louder, with added crackles and bangs. Finally, there is a TracTive semi-active suspension adjustable in five positions.
