ABT transforms the Audi S8 Plus into what could well be an Audi RS8 with 705 horsepower

The Audi S8 Plus is the ultimate expression of power, luxury and comfort in a model from the German brand. However, many enthusiasts of the brand ask for an Audi RS8. After all, there are RS versions from the Audi A3 up to the A7, so why not the A8?
If Audi has not wanted to launch an RS8 there must be a reason; perhaps the numbers don’t add up, or perhaps it doesn’t want to directly associate its flagship with high performance. We don’t know the answer but, in any case, ABT takes care of the solution.
The luxury saloon from Audi is sold, in addition to the Audi A8, as the Audi S8 and S8 Plus. In this latter version, which as standard is the most high-performance, the model from Ingolstadt uses a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. Its maximum power is no less than 605 horsepower and its torque is 700 Nm; enough to make long journeys without problems on small inclines and on the acceleration lanes of the German Autobahn. The standard Audi S8 Plus takes 3.8 seconds to stop the clock in 0 to 100 accelerations, while it can travel at a top speed of 305 km/h.

If we leave our S8 Plus in the hands of ABT for a few hours, we can collect it with power increases that will bring its figures to 640, 675 or 705 horsepower. That’s 100 horsepower more than the stock Audi S8 Plus!
At the most high-performance power stage, the flagship develops the aforementioned 705 horsepower and its torque increases to 840 Nm. In this way, it can perform the 0 to 100 in 3.5 seconds and “fly flat out” at no less than 320 km/h.
ABT also improves the chassis and reduces its height by 25 mm and uses several driving modes to adapt the car’s behaviour to the driver’s preferences at any given moment. It also offers a new exhaust system with four outlets and an 89 mm diameter.
Finally, the tuner offers two different wheel designs with sizes of 20, 21 and 22 inches which are lighter than those fitted to the standard Audi S8 Plus. These can be equipped with high-performance tyres from the brands Continental or Dunlop.
ABT has not commented on the price of the various modifications. In any case, for a customer who has the money to buy (and maintain) an Audi S8 Plus, the cost of the tuning should not be a problem.
