Audi is preparing at least three electric models based on Volkswagen Group's MEB platform Volkswagen
The German brand will use the MEB platform for electric vehicles developed for the Volkswagen group for its upcoming electric car projects

The race to launch new electric vehicles is unstoppable, and brands are rushing to prepare this type of model so they can be ready as soon as possible. In Europe, the Volkswagen group is preparing several 100% electric models and wants several of the brands under its umbrella to be ready for the fierce battle that will take place from next year onwards.
That is why Audi, one of the most important, wants to be ready and will use the MEB platform of the German group to design and manufacture its upcoming electric vehicles. This platform gives life to the new Volkswagen ID.3, which will enter production within a few weeks and will serve to develop the electric models of Audi with which it will enter the new decade.

Three electric models from Audi
The first electric model from Audi to enter production will be the Audi Q4 e-tron, which has already been presented as a concept model and will enter the production line within a few months. According to the brand, it is 97% ready for production and has received some design changes, including modifications to the mirrors, door handles and smaller wheels, to adapt it to real-world driving and the demands of buyers.
This will not be the only 100% electric model from Audi in the near future, as two more new electric cars of this type are also expected. As Markus Jeschke, head of the MEB project at Volkswagen, told Autoblog, a sportier version of the Audi Q4 e-tron and a saloon could arrive soon, although details of these are still unknown.
But Audi is not only working on this platform; it is also preparing a new platform together with Porsche, called PPE, which will be similar to the current MEB but with substantial changes to create electric vehicles with higher performance. This platform will be designed around an electric motor on the rear axle, although it will be possible to add a front motor to achieve all-wheel drive.
In addition, the PPE platform will add more advanced technologies such as four-wheel steering and torque vectoring, which will deliver greater performance and cars aimed at more demanding and adventurous buyers. But all of this, of course, will come over the next decade.
