The Audi RS5 Sportback is set to dominate the road, but which rivals will it face?
The Audi RS5 Sportback has been the latest novelty from Audi, featuring a 450 CV V6. However, today we are going to analyse its main competition.

Sportiness is an attribute that today extends to practically all segments, something that allows a wide variety of vehicles to offer and satisfy all kinds of customers. However, among the different concepts that exist, there is one that will always stand out above the rest: the coupés. Over time, this type of vehicle has moved to four -and even five- doors without giving up its styling and dynamism, with the Audi A5 Sportback being a clear example of this.
Recently, the German four-door coupé received the most honourable designation within the brand of the four rings, the RS initials. This variant never arrived with the previous model, something that disappointed fans of the model, but this time Audi offers us a versatile yet sporty model, capable of far surpassing other vehicles with similar characteristics but, at the same time, the RS5 Sportback reaches a somewhat lonely territory, so, with which competition will it be faced?
On the one hand, the most radical Sportback from Audi -with the permission of the future RS7- is responsible for competing with models of its same segment and, at the same time, it also takes on the coupés themselves. This can be seen in the German territory itself, where numerous brands from the same origin intend to bet on the same type of vehicle equipping it with a much sportier and more aggressive tuning.

On the one hand, we find Mercedes, since it has two vehicles that resemble each other in terms of segment: the CLS and the CLA. The latter has the 45 AMG variant, which does not reach the power of the RS5’s supercharged V6 and its 450 CV, but it will most likely do so once its renewal reaches the market. Staying within the brand, we must not forget the C 63 AMG Coupé, a sports car that houses under its bonnet a supercharged V8 capable of delivering 476 CV of power, a figure that directly rivals that of the Audi.
If we travel to Asia, we must pay close attention to Korea, the country of origin of Kia. Within this firm, the Stinger GT has put the Europeans in a tight spot, something it achieves thanks to its supercharged V6 capable of delivering 370 CV and, although the figure falls slightly behind the RS5, its concept fits perfectly within the competition.

In BMW we must also highlight both the M4 and the M3, two sports cars that feature a six-cylinder engine capable of delivering 431 CV of power and, despite having a variant called Gran Coupé, this one does not have an M version; however, it will most likely do so with the next generation of the 3 Series.
Without a doubt, the Audi RS5 Sportback stands out as a pleasant surprise within the four-ring brand and, although it is a fairly unique car when it comes to competition, sit does have some rivals that will make sure it does not have an easy time.
