The Citroën Jumper is updated with new versions, equipment and engine options

Citroën continues to update its commercial vehicles, now with the Jumper, which increases its range of versions and improves its engines with an eye on the Jumper Electric

Citroen Jumper 2020 (1)

The PSA Group began last year with the update of the commercial variants of its small vans, followed this spring by the Jumpy as the mid-size model and, now, it is the turn of the largest model, the Jumper. Commercial vans represent a very important share of Citroën’s sales, with market shares that keep rising and that already reach a 16% market share in the first half of this year.

The Citroën Jumper remains visually unchanged but is updated to incorporate new versions and thus adapt to a greater number of professionals, as well as to incorporate new engines and new technological equipment. Its range, both in closed sheet-metal panel van and in the Combi version for passenger transport with 5 to 9 seats, will consist of four different lengths (L1, L2, L3 and L4) with three wheelbases (3 m, 3.45 m, 4.04 m) and three heights (H1, H2 and H3).

The range of the new Citroën Jumper will also be structured along the same lines we have already seen in the new Berlingo Van and Jumpy, incorporating two new versions:

  • Worker: this version is aimed at the most demanding professionals, especially those who have to drive along the narrowest roads or through difficult access to construction sites. The Jumper Worker will stand out for its black wheel arches, engine protection and front and rear skirts for the vans. Technologically, it will come as standard with Intelligent Traction Control, paired with all-season tyres and Hill Assist Control, while the interior features front air conditioning with a ventilated glovebox, an audio system with Bluetooth hands-free and USB port, a speed limiter-regulator and a clipboard on the dashboard.
  • Driver: as you can guess from the name, this version is aimed at professionals who spend a lot of time behind the wheel on long journeys, so its specifications are geared towards greater comfort. We will also have several driver assistance systems with the Safety Pack (which includes Active Safety Brake, Unintended Lane Change Warning, automatic dipped headlights and automatic high-beam switching) and the Visibility Pack (which brings together rain sensor and speed sign recognition), plus a USB charging port, fog lights and a navigation system.

In addition to all of this, we will have new systems available as optional extras, such as the Blind Spot Monitoring System, which takes into account whether a trailer is attached, Rear Traffic Alert up to a distance of 50 metres when reverse gear is selected, and the connected systems Citroën Connect Box, which covers fuel consumption monitoring, vehicle tracking in case of theft, permanent vehicle location for fleets, maintenance management and ecoDriving.

On the mechanical side, the new Citroën Jumper removes the BlueHDi 2.0 engine from its range and introduces a new BlueHDi 2.2 unit, offered in power outputs of 120 CV, 140 CV and 165 CV, all paired with a six-speed manual transmission and adapted to the new Euro 6.2 standard. Later on, the date is not specified, the Jumper Electric will arrive, which will be 100% electric and will have two types of battery depending on its body, offering more or less range: for the L1 and L2 the range is 225 km on the NEDC cycle, and for the L3 and L4 this range rises to 270 km on the NEDC cycle.
