The elegant Maserati MC20, now even more radical thanks to Novitec

The unveiling of the Maserati MC20 a couple of years ago returned the Italian brand of the trident to the top ranks of great sports cars, a vehicle in which Maserati has applied its craftsmanship, offering in its range sportiness and elegance in equal measure. And, let’s not deny it, the MC20 is a true beauty from every angle, all backed up by its Nettuno V6.

In fact, this is an engine that can still deliver even more spectacular sensations, something we already saw a few short months ago from the specialist tuner DMC, which gave us an MC20 with a more aggressive look and a considerable increase in power. Now another renowned tuner dares to take on the Maserati MC20: Novitec, which, with its delicacy in improving the styling without breaking the original design, also offers us a vehicle that is slightly more powerful than the DMC version.

But if we start with the exterior, its styling and aerodynamics, Novitec offers a series of components that, as could not be otherwise, are made from carbon fibre. At the front we find a spoiler for the bumper, which extends until it fits perfectly with the side air intakes, while the air intakes located on the bonnet also feature a trim in the same material.

Moving to the side view, we see that Novitec also allows the fitting of side skirts, which are slightly wider than the standard ones while keeping the same shapes. From this view we can also appreciate the new forged wheels, offered in 21 inches for the rear axle and 20 inches for the front, obviously fitted with high-performance tyres. At the rear, the engine cover is also new, featuring new air outlets, as well as the rear diffuser and the discreet yet effective spoiler. Inside, Novitec will allow it to be personalised, thanks to the wide selection of leather colours as well as Alcantara.

Mechanically, the Maserati MC20 uses the 3,000 cc Nettuno V6, which as standard delivers 630 CV together with 730 Nm of torque. These figures are now increased to 711 CV and 818 Nm, which allow it to reach 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 325 km/h. This performance can be better exploited, especially when cornering, thanks to the new springs that lower the ride height by 25 mm. Optionally, a new exhaust line with electronic valve control can be installed, along with an even more radical titanium-free alternative in gold-plated Inconel that produces a much more aggressive sound.
