German tuner VOS Gmbh has developed aesthetic and mechanical kits for a model of great importance within the brand of the “prancing horse”: the Ferrari 488 GTB.

Standard supercars, like conventional cars, have always been modifiable to give them greater personality and differentiation from the rest of the vehicles. In addition to aesthetic changes, mechanical modifications could also be made to increase their performance. Now, with turbocharged engines, these engine improvements can add hundreds of extra horsepower.

This is the case of the Ferrari 488 GTB that has passed through VOS’s hands. As standard, the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 of the Italian supercar delivers a not inconsiderable output of 670 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque.

After making several adjustments to the engine’s electronic management, maximising the air intake to the V8 through the twin-turbo system and fitting it with a new exhaust system, choosing between a titanium exhaust or one bearing the signature of Akrapovič, the final output rises to no less than 900 horsepower and the engine torque to 910 Nm. That is 230 horsepower and 150 Nm more!

On the other hand, if the customer wants a milder mechanical upgrade, there are two intermediate variants carried out by the same tuner. The less powerful, so to speak, gives the twin-turbo V8 750 horsepower and 810 Nm; while the intermediate stage offers 830 horsepower and 860 Nm.

The German tuner has not provided performance data regarding acceleration times and top speed for any of the three stages. The stock model, with its 670 horsepower, is capable of doing 0 to 100 km/h in three seconds, while it can reach a top speed of 330 km/h.

As for the styling, the changes the tuner has integrated into the coupé are not excessively “flashy”, although it is clear the car has passed through a workshop that does not belong to the Maranello company. It sits slightly lower than the stock model, thanks to the shorter springs from H&R. The wheels, shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, 10-spoke and finished in black, are the biggest visual attraction along with the prominent rear diffuser, the spoiler and the front splitter finished in carbon fibre.
