The Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear aims to be the best supercar in the brand's lineup

This variant of the Koenigsegg Jesko pays tribute to the owner’s father and offers better handling both on the road and on the track.

When we talk about Koenigsegg, we are not talking about city cars; we always have in mind an outstanding and completely spectacular car. So it comes as no surprise that the company has announced it will launch yet another hypercar that breaks all records, including those it has achieved so far with other models.

Following the Koenigsegg Jesko, the brand has wanted to create a version of this model with enhanced aerodynamic features. This model is named Jesko von Koenigsegg, after the father of the company’s owner. He was a prestigious jockey, so in this case the car takes its name from his professional racing career.

A car named after a horse

The name of this high-performance version of the Jesko Attack, which is already quite spectacular in its own right, is Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear. The name refers to the horse with which he last competed. And it is no small claim, as this model aims to stare down the Bugatti Tourbillon, so we can already see what to expect from this model.

Work has been done to improve the car’s aerodynamics and the chassis has been enhanced. The interior has also been redesigned to deliver the best track performance. That said, it can also be used on the road, so it is a fully valid car for enjoying outside the circuit.

There is no data on what the model can offer in terms of aerodynamics, but it is announced that it will be 20% more efficient than the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack. To achieve this, work has been done on changing the front air intakes. This allows better airflow to cool both the engine and the oil. There are also new ventilation grilles and redesigned canards.

The rear has been lengthened, and aerodynamics and stability of the model have been improved. A double active rear wing has been installed for this purpose, and the results are very practical. The alloy wheels also help reduce weight and improve handling.

An engine capable of making the difference

The engine fitted to this supercar is a twin-turbo 5.1-litre V8 block revving to 8,500 rpm. Together with the redesigned cooling, redirected airflow and the engine recalibration, it reaches an output of 1,647 CV. However, this power is only achieved when running on E85 fuel. If another type of fuel is used, the driver will have to make do with “only” 1,318 CV.

The gearbox transmitting all this power is an automatic transmission with seven clutches and nine speeds.

A more efficient chassis

Power can be controlled thanks to several adjustments made to the chassis. The suspension uses custom-made, very lightweight springs. The Triplex dampers are a configuration that uses an extra damper in the original position. The carbon-ceramic brakes use pads made from a more efficient material, and the tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. On top of all this, it weighs 35 kg less, bringing it to a weight of 1,385 kg.

The use of a lighter noise insulator in the interior and the parts made from carbon fibre ensure this weight reduction. The seats can replace the three-point seat belts with six-point ones. And since this is also a car designed for the street, it features the SmartCluster display on the steering wheel. It also has the SmartCenter multimedia system, USB ports, a wireless smartphone charger, and a system for opening and closing the doors and bonnet. A bird’s-eye view parking assistant makes parking easier.

30 units of this model will be produced, although there is no need to rush to reserve one. In fact, all of them have already been sold and none remain available. In a short time, all available units were reserved and this model is closed for good.
