The Nissan Leaf 2013 would have a range of 135 km according to EPA's new test
The EPA test gave the new Nissan Leaf a range of 120 kilometres, which was not entirely accurate, since the figure was an average of the range with an 80% charge and with a full charge, the latter reaching 135 kilometres, considerably better.

Not long ago, the EPA published its range test for the new Nissan Leaf 2013. This test turned out to be rather disappointing for everyone, as it produced a result of 120 kilometres, which meant an improvement of just 2.5% over the previous model, which achieved a “rating” of 117 kilometres of range.
This is due to the way the EPA analyses range: some cars have a function that lets us limit the battery charge and charge the car to only 80% in order to extend the useful life of the batteries. Naturally, the Leaf has this option.
The EPA takes this into account and averages the range at 80% and at 100%, which should not be the case, since each user is completely free to use whatever charge they want, and the EPA should offer the range at full charge rather than an average of two different benchmarks.
Based on the data, the Leaf at 80% charge has a range of 106 kilometres, while at full charge it has 135, a figure 15% better than the previous model. Things are looking better now, right?
What do you all think? Does the EPA do well by averaging both benchmarks, or should it simply offer the range at the highest charge? Or give us all the figures?
