The Porsche Macan is being updated ahead of the arrival of the electric version
More powerful engines, a more streamlined design and a new multimedia system are the main changes to the new Porsche Macan.

Everything points to the future Porsche Macan being electric. But until that new generation arrives, the model that opens the Porsche SUV range is being thoroughly updated, with changes affecting the design, the engine line-up and the interior.
The aim, in every case, is to make the Macan an even more sporty SUV in order to keep up the exceptional appeal this car has achieved for the brand: since its launch in 2014, more than 600,000 units of the Porsche Macan have already been sold worldwide, and nearly 80% of buyers are new to Porsche.
The brand is already taking orders for the new Macan, which will reach dealerships in October, with three versions and the following prices:
- Porsche Macan: 68,540 euros
- Porsche Macan S: 83,468 euros
- Porsche Macan GTS: 102,427 euros
More powerful engines for the 2022 Macan
All three versions offer more power. At the top of the range, the Macan GTS, the 2.9 V6 twin-turbo engine delivers a massive 60 hp gain, reaching 440 hp. This lowers the 0-100 km/h acceleration time to 4.3 seconds (provided the Sport Chrono package is fitted), with a top speed of 272 km/h.
In the case of the Macan S, also fitted with a 2.98-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, power rises to 380 hp (26 hp more than before). Its acceleration and top speed figures are 4.6 seconds and 259 km/h, respectively.
The entry-level Macan uses a new 265 hp four-cylinder turbo engine, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and reaches 232 km/h. All three versions come with a PDK dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive.

Porsche has also optimised the chassis, seeking a more direct response and greater agility. To this end, the settings of the adjustable dampers of the Porsche Active Suspension Management system have been modified; it is optional on the Macan and standard on the Macan S and Macan GTS versions.
The latter now also includes as standard the sport air suspension, 10% stiffer at the front axle and 15% firmer at the rear, with the body height lowered by 10 mm. Optionally, customers can personalise the Macan GTS with the GTS Sport package, which includes 21-inch wheels, the Sport Chrono package and the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus dynamic torque control system.
The exterior and interior design of the new Porsche Macan
On the outside, there are not many changes that identify the new Macan. The front has been slightly redesigned, and on the GTS it features black finishes and adds a rear diffuser. All versions include LED headlights with Porsche’s dynamic lighting system and Sport Design exterior mirrors.
The body colour range includes 14 options, three of them new: metallic papaya and metallic blue, plus python green on the Macan GTS with the GTS Sport pack. There are seven new wheel designs, which are 19 inches as standard on the Macan, 20 inches on the Macan S and 21 inches on the Macan GTS.

The interior stands out for its new centre console, where most buttons have been replaced by touch surfaces, as well as a new, much shorter gear selector. The multimedia system screen measures 10.9 inches. The range adds various leather upholstery packs with contrast stitching in different colours, and the steering wheel becomes the GT Sport version with multifunction controls used in the 911.
With the GTS Sport pack, the interior includes sport seats with 18 adjustment options, a Carbon interior pack, Race-Tex upholstery with additional leather elements, various areas with contrast stitching, and GTS lettering in green.
