The Subaru XV gets a new look for 2016

The XV is the most compact model in the Subaru range. It is a small SUV that aims to compete in the segment of the Nissan Qashqai and VW Tiguan, among others.
Now, three years after its launch, the XV is getting a slight update to its styling to face 2016 with better sales figures.
Subaru currently has a range where the concept of all-wheel drive is paramount. Whether saloons or SUVs, all of its models -with the exception of the minority BRZ- come with permanent all-wheel drive. The vehicle in question, the XV, is also no exception.
In our country it is not a very well-known or popular model, but it still continues to fight for its place in the market.

The Japanese manufacturer has introduced slight changes to the body and interior of the XV in order to improve its appeal. Outside, the XV is enhanced with 17″ wheels of a redesigned style, new headlights -both front and rear-, grille and radiator grille.
The changes don’t stop there, as the exterior door handles have also been redesigned, and a new chrome trim has been added at window level that enhances the vehicle’s image. A new body colour is also included, called Hyper Blue.

Inside, the changes are more subtle, although overall they improve the perceived sense of quality. Firstly, the steering wheel, which is now the same as the one in the new Outback. In addition, new piano black trim has been added and the fabric upholstery on the seats and doors has been renewed.
This styling update is added to the new multimedia and climate control systems that were already introduced on the XV a few months ago with the Outback restyling. Mechanically the XV has no changes, so it continues to offer the same range of diesel and petrol engines, always in the boxer layout that is the brand’s tradition.
The XV’s changes are purely cosmetic, with the same mechanicals as before being retained
In petrol form there is a 115 CV 1.6 four-cylinder and a 150 CV naturally aspirated 2.0 four-cylinder, while the diesel protagonist is also a 2.0 four-cylinder, turbocharged, which delivers 147 CV and 350 Nm with an average consumption of 5.4 litres per 100 km.
