The Audi RS4 and RS6 have always been conceived from the estate body of both models, but this render lets us appreciate an RS4 Saloon.

Renders are presented as a technique capable not only of anticipating future vehicles, but also of satisfying our imagination by bringing to life cars that have never rolled off the production lines. In this context, the Audi RS4, a model that has always used the estate body since its inception, just like its big brother, the RS6, has left many fans of the brand longing to see those names in saloon versions. Even so, there are still many who hope that the brand with the four rings will give this project, which is generating so much anticipation, the green light at some point. In the meantime, the designer Nikita Aksyonov has managed to quench our thirst for a Audi RS4 saloon.

With a market full of sporty saloons, it would not be unreasonable for Audi to let the S4 coexist with the RS4 in the same body. However, the German brand has never hinted at this, so everything points to it not being a short-term plan, but this has not stopped designers like Nikita from turning to their imagination to bring it to life.

Logically, this render is based on two existing foundations: the Audi RS4 and the Audi A4 saloon. By combining both concepts, they have managed to conceive the RS4 Saloon, a vehicle that could compete even more directly with the BMW M3, the Mercedes-AMG C63 and the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, three of the segment’s top exponents.

The front of this ambitious vehicle adopts the typical features of the German brand’s RS models. An aggressive, sharp splitter lends a sporty character to this hypothetical Audi RS4 Saloon, a feeling that also comes through at the rear. That area is framed by a small but well-judged spoiler finished in carbon fibre and by an imposing diffuser housing two cylindrical exhaust outlets.

Mechanically, we can imagine that no modifications will have been made, which is why the same 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 would still be the engine powering the RS4 with its 450 CV. Quattro four-wheel drive would also remain present in the German model, although it would be interesting to see how Audi engineers devise a system that lets the driver send all the power to the rear axle if desired.

As has been the case to date, Audi has made no move to conceive this variant of the Audi RS4, at least with the current generation. However, we should not rule out that, in future iterations of the German estate, the RS badge could be applied to the A4 saloon, thereby satisfying many fans of the brand and expanding the market’s boundaries.
