Zoe e-Sport returns with power and outstanding performance

A couple of years ago we saw the Renault Zoe e-Sport, a version of the 100% electric compact from the brand. It was a concept model that raised performance and the possibilities of this car to quite impressive levels. With it, we could see how a city car breaks the mould and steps forward.

The Renault Zoe e-Sport had fallen into the temporary oblivion that usually follows the presentation of a model of these characteristics, but now it seems the French brand is going to give it a new opportunity. To do so, it will try to offer a solution to energy needs by replacing the original batteries with new-generation ones, with greater capacity.

At the time, it was a showcase of what the electric vehicle department was capable of with the technology available then. With the incorporation of new batteries and energy solutions for vehicles of this kind, we can imagine it may even surpass what it originally offered.

When it was presented, it was said that its two electric motors were capable of delivering an output equivalent to 460 CV and a maximum torque of 640 Nm, with a total weight of 1,400 kg, including the battery. The battery weighs 450 kg, which made the weight increase considerably. With the new batteries, the weight may be reduced without losing performance.

This would increase its range, although what is sought with this competition version of the Renault Zoe is for it to run faster than the basic model and become the high-performance car we have been waiting for. For now, the Renault Zoe e-Sport has an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, which is very good for a city car designed for urban driving.
