The Subaru XV gets a new look for 2016

The XV is the most compact model in the Subaru range. It is a small SUV that aims to compete in the segment of the Nissan Qashqai and VW Tiguan, among others.

Now, three years after its launch, the XV is slightly updating its look to face 2016 with better sales figures.

Subaru currently has a range in which the concept of all-wheel drive is essential. Whether saloons or SUVs, all its models -with the exception of the minority BRZ- feature permanent all-wheel drive. This is also the case of the vehicle at hand, the XV.
In our country it is not a very well-known and popular model, but it still keeps fighting for its place in the market.

The Japanese brand has introduced slight changes to the bodywork and interior of the XV in order to improve its appeal. Externally, the XV improves with 17″ alloy wheels in a renewed design, new headlights -both front and rear-, grille and radiator grille.
The changes do not end here, as the exterior door handles have also been renewed, and a new chrome trim has been added at window height that enhances the vehicle’s image. A new bodywork colour is included, called Hyper Blue.

Inside, the changes are lighter, although overall they improve the perceived sense of quality. First, the steering wheel, which is now the same as that of the new Outback. In addition, new trims in piano black finish have been added and the textile upholstery of the seats and doors has been renewed.

This aesthetic update is added to the implementation of the new multimedia and climate control systems that were already included in the XV a few months ago with the Outback restyling. Mechanically the XV has no changes, so it continues to offer the same range of diesel and petrol engines, always in boxer configuration as is tradition in the brand.

The XV changes are purely aesthetic, keeping the same mechanicals as until now

In petrol there is a 1.6 four-cylinder with 115 CV and a naturally aspirated 2.0 four-cylinder with 150 CV, while in diesel the star is a 2.0, also four-cylinder, turbocharged, delivering 147 CV and 350 NM with an average consumption of 5.4 litres per 100 km.
