Kumho Ecsta PS91, competition-grade technology in every corner

A good tyre is a fundamental part of the driving chain. Kumho now presents its most sporty proposal, named Ecsta PS91.

Hundreds upon hundreds of horsepower under the bonnet, the best chassis and the best hands are of no use if they cannot be transferred to the road.

A good tyre is a fundamental part of the chain that starts when you pull away and ends on the tarmac. Kumho now presents its most sporty proposal.

The South Korean manufacturer Kumho is one of the most established names in the tyre industry, having been active since 1960. It has a strong presence in several markets and extensive experience in motorsport, where it can be found in competitions such as F3, the Zandvoort Masters or the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

It is now launching a UHP (Ultra High Performance) tyre aimed at the most demanding road applications, with high grip requirements, without losing sight of comfort and durability. This tyre is called Ecsta PS91, and is already available through the usual sales channels.

It reaches the Spanish market in sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches, always with speed rating Y, up to 300 km/h. It delivers outstanding performance on dry asphalt, where it stands out for its high levels of grip both under acceleration and under braking, without neglecting ride comfort in any situation.

The design of the PS91 has been meticulously considered. One of the innovations of this tyre is the incorporation of 3D tread pattern technology, which substantially increases tyre life thanks to more effective heat dissipation, resulting in less stress and wear on the tread, something vital when a certain level of demand is reached.

The sidewall has been carefully designed to minimise vibration, which improves comfort, while reducing road noise transmitted into the cabin. The asymmetric design of the PS91 for the rear axle stands out, specifically intended to improve grip on high-powered vehicles with rear-wheel drive.

Nothing has been left to chance, as even the tread pattern itself has been carefully designed to look sporty and effective, featuring an attractive motif reminiscent of racing flags.

Another of its great attractions is the price of Kumho’s new creation, which positions it as one of the most attractive options in its class, with a cost per tyre lower than that of its rivals.
