LEPAS LET: the new 800V electric platform that promises 200 km of range in just 10 minutes

LEPAS presents LET (Lepas Elegant Technology), its new modular, multi-energy platform that promises to redefine electric mobility. With flat batteries of up to 82 kWh, an 800-volt architecture and a range of up to 600 kilometres

Flat batteries of up to 82 kWh and an 800-volt electrical architecture capable of delivering 600 kilometres of range and recovering 200 km in just ten minutes. This is how the presentation of the new LEPAS LET (Lepas Elegant Technology) platform begins, LEPAS’s most ambitious project to date. A development that goes beyond electrification, rewriting the rules of how modern cars are designed, driven and felt.

The

LEPAS LET is much more than a technical base: it is a declaration of technological independence. Conceived as a modular and scalable multi-energy architecture, the LET can house pure electric systems (BEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), range-extended electric vehicles (REEV) and even flex fuel (FFV) powertrains. At a time when the industry is still debating which path to take, LEPAS seems to tell the world: “all roads are ours”.

Its design allows vehicles to be built in every segment, from compact city cars to large SUVs, with

wheelbases ranging from 2.5 to 3 metres. But what really impresses is its functional robustness: the platform can operate in extreme temperatures from –45 °C to 80 °C, withstand altitudes of 5,000 metres and wade through 600 millimetres of water, without losing efficiency or reliability. Its intelligent thermal management system not only extends range in cold climates by up to 30%, but also improves cell durability and interior comfort thanks to Bionic Gentle Breeze technology, capable of cooling the cabin from 75 °C to 26 °C in five minutes.

The chassis, developed under the

Drive-by-Wire concept, abandons traditional mechanisms in favour of total electronic control of steering and acceleration, offering surgical precision in corners and a ride comfort typical of higher segments. In addition, the structure combines ultra-high-strength steel (86%) with programmed crumple zones and a battery disconnection system in just 2 milliseconds in the event of an impact.

Engines and transmissions:

The LET platform promises not only efficiency but also emotion. LEPAS has developed a range of

new-generation combustion and electric engines, designed to work together or separately, depending on the chosen configuration.

On the combustion side, the

1.5TGDI and 2.0TGDI achieve thermal efficiencies of 44.5% and 46%, respectively, figures that place them among the most efficient in the world. These units can deliver up to 200 kW (270 CV) and 400 Nm of torque, offering instant response when combined with the supporting electric systems.

The

100% electric (BEV) variants take the experience to another level: in its dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration, the LET develops 418 kW (568 CV) and reaches 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, with an efficiency of 90.8% and a noise level of only 73 decibels. The dynamic behaviour is tuned by a variable-ratio steering (5:1 to 14:1) and an electromagnetic CDC suspension that adjusts its stiffness in milliseconds.

The

DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) transmission system, available in DHT160 and DHT230 variants, guarantees a conversion efficiency of over 90%, combining the immediacy of the electric motor with the elasticity of the combustion engine. On the road, the sensation is of a perfectly coordinated unit, with linear acceleration, zero jerkiness and a mechanical serenity that is more reminiscent of a premium vehicle than a conventional hybrid.

In short, LEPAS has achieved what many promise and few deliver:

fusing electric silence with mechanical muscle in a driving experience that is smooth, precise and, yes, addictive.

Batteries: the technical jewel of the platform

If there is one component that sums up LEPAS’s technological leap, it is its batteries. The LET platform introduces an

800-volt electrical system and flat batteries with capacities between 40 and 82 kWh, enabling homologated ranges of 350 to 600 km (WLTC). But the figure that draws the most attention is its charging speed: thanks to its ultra-rapid charging system, it can recover 200 km in 10 minutes or reach 475 km in 11.5 minutes. In a market where every minute counts, LEPAS has made charging anxiety, quite literally, a thing of the past.

The

plug-in hybrid and range-extended versions (PHEV/REEV) run on a 400 V architecture, with batteries between 9.9 and 40 kWh, offering electric ranges of up to 200 km. They also support fast charging from 5% to 80% in 15 minutes and feature 6.6 kW bidirectional discharge, which allows the vehicle to be used as an external power source — to power devices, charge another car via the V2V system or even supply electricity to a home in an emergency.

LEPAS is already working on

solid-state batteries that promise to exceed 1,500 kilometres of range, a figure that sounds more like aviation than automotive, but which reinforces the brand’s commitment to clean and efficient mobility. Meanwhile, its current technology already places the LET among the world’s most advanced platforms, not only for capacity or charging speed, but for its intelligent thermal management, its reinforced structural protection and its full integration with the vehicle’s electronics.
