Maxus expands its catalogue in Spain and starts sales of the T60 Max, a pick-up fitted with an HVO-compatible diesel engine that costs less than 30,000 euros

Maxus has entered the Spanish market with force through the platform offered by Astara, mainly with electric proposals at a really attractive cost given what they offer. An example of this is its latest presentation for our country, a fully electric pick-up that was shown to us and that will reach the market this coming spring: the eTerron 9.

The eTerron 9 is a pick-up focused more on use outside of work, for leisure and enjoyment, whereas if we want a much more versatile pick-up that also serves for working, Maxus already has the T90 on sale in Spain, although its motorisation is also fully electric. Now the Chinese brand wants to reach more customers, so its catalogue now opens up to those who need a pick-up that allows them to work without having to worry about where to charge their battery and to focus solely on the job, that is to say, with a diesel engine.

This new Maxus pick-up is the T60 Max and, as you can see in the photographs, it is very similar in styling to the T90. Its front end is really imposing thanks to the look given by the huge black-painted grille, while above it we have the trim piece where the brand name sits, which links the upper headlights with their horizontal light signature and, just below these, we also have additional LED lights at the ends of the bumper. The bumper, by the way, features lower protections to venture safely off the asphalt.

On the sides we have wheel arches with black protections that also frame its large 18-inch wheels. From the side is precisely where it is best seen that this is a large pick-up; in fact it measures 5,395 mm in length, although this does not prevent it from achieving off-road figures thanks to its 217 mm ground clearance, an approach angle of 29º and a departure angle of 26º. At the rear it is similar to a T90 and only differs in the protections and colours given to the rear bumper.

Its interior will surprise you with a design that looks taken from a mid/high-range saloon, all thanks to the use of materials such as leather for the seat upholstery, door panels and dashboard, together with the applied inserts; materials that are combined, as could not be otherwise, with screens that in this case are 12.3 inches for both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, both joined under a single frame. Beneath these screens the absence of buttons stands out, since practically all functions are controlled through the infotainment system.

As standard, the Maxus T60 Max also stands out for its noteworthy equipment, with systems such as hill start and hill descent assistance; forward collision and lane departure warning; automatic emergency braking system; electronic brake assist, prioritisation and distribution; lane change assist, lane keeping and emergency lane keeping systems; adaptive cruise control; driver monitoring system; light sensor and automatic headlight activation.

Mechanically, the Maxus T60 Max uses a diesel engine, as expected of a pick-up for leisure and work. It is also a unit compatible with HVO diesel, which we have already discussed here, and which brands such as Toyota or Audi also have approved for their engines. The engine delivers 215 CV, sent to all four wheels through permanent four-wheel drive and by means of the eight-speed automatic gearbox it is fitted with.

The Maxus T60 Max is already available in Spain with a price starting from 29,990 euros, which includes a promotional discount and a 5-year or 160,000 km warranty. The first units are expected to start being delivered from February.
