The Mustang Mach-E 1400 has arrived! A completely electric beast with seven motors capable of delivering 1,400 CV of power. Shall we get to know it better?

The oval brand wanted to take one more step in terms of electrification and has just presented one of the most powerful electric beasts ever seen. It is the Mustang Mach-E 1400, and its goal is to raise competition to new levels. It is fully electric and was developed in collaboration with RTR Vehicles to demonstrate the performance possibilities of electric propulsion.

This new beast offers, no more and no less, 1,400 CV of power, seven electric motors, a high-performance battery, and is capable of generating more than 1,000 kg of aerodynamic downforce at 257 km/h. The NASCAR will be its first race appearance.

The Mustang Mach-E 1400 has become the only Ford with seven electric motors and high aerodynamic downforce. This new model even sits ahead of the Mustang Cobra Jet 1400. According to the manufacturer itself, “anywhere it can show how electric propulsion promises extreme performance in the purest Mustang style.” The Mustang Mach-E 1400 was developed in collaboration with RTR and is built from a white Mustang Mach-E GT. The lightweight chassis together with the drivetrain allows a wide range of configurations that deliver performance unlike any other competition model.

Ron Heiser, chief program engineer Mustang Mach-E, has said that “now is the perfect moment to take advantage of electric technology, learn from it and apply it to our models.” “The Mustang Mach-E will be fun, just like all the previous Mustangs, but the Mustang Mach-E 1400 is completely crazy, thanks to the efforts of Ford Performance and RTR.” For his part, Vaughn Gittin Jr., founder of RTR Vehicles, wanted to point out that “getting behind the wheel of this car has completely changed my perspective on what power and torque can be.” “This experience is unlike anything you could have imagined, except perhaps a magnetic roller coaster.”

Ford has stated that the aerodynamics were optimized taking into account the cooling ducts, the diffuser, the stabilizers and the rear wing. As for mechanics, this new electric supercar that will compete in NASCAR has seven motors; three are connected to the front differential and the other four are at the rear. They are linked by a single drive shaft that connects the differentials. This allows the car to be configured for everything from drifting to high-speed racing. The chassis and drivetrain are set up so the team can investigate different designs and their effects on energy consumption and performance, including rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive. The Drift and Track modes have completely different setups, such as suspension arms and steering geometry changes, to allow extreme steering angles when drifting.

In addition, it is important to note that power delivery can be split evenly between the front and rear. The aerodynamic downforce reaches more than 1,000 kg at 257 km/h. The battery is 56.8 kWh, made up of nickel-manganese-cobalt cells to achieve ultra-fast performance and a high discharge rate. As the oval brand itself has pointed out, “the battery system is designed to be cooled during charging using a dielectric coolant, reducing the time needed between races.”

Carbon fiber covers the model, and the chassis is described as a “test bench for new materials.” Its hood is made of composite organic fibers.
