OMODA 3: this is the electric SUV that OMODA will launch in Europe for around €20,000

With a futuristic design, a price starting at €20,000 and a launch planned for 2026, the OMODA 3 arrives to challenge the kings of the electric B-SUV segment

The urban electric SUV market seemed like a closed contest between established European brands and the occasional Asian contender with ambitions. But the arrival of OMODA is changing everything. Its new offering, the OMODA 3, will land in Europe in early 2026 and promises to unsettle rivals such as the Renault Captur, the SEAT Arona and the Ford Puma. Its winning card? A futuristic design, a starting price of around €20,000 and a global growth strategy that is already rattling more than one veteran manufacturer.

The OMODA 3 sits in the electric B-SUV segment. It measures roughly 4.20 metres long, 1.78 metres wide and 1.55 metres tall, with a wheelbase close to 2.50 metres. On paper it suits urban use perfectly, yet it offers enough space to appeal to those seeking a versatile car for weekend getaways.

The key lies in the T1X platform from Chery, already proven in other models within the group, which allows it to reach the market with a degree of technical maturity and avoid the risks of an unproven architecture.

Cyber Mecha: when design becomes a banner

OMODA calls it Cyber Mecha and, although it sounds like a slogan, the OMODA 3 does have a personality of its own. The fastback silhouette breaks with the monotony of traditional SUVs, and the front is characterised by taut, sharp surfaces. The rear stands out with a futuristic light signature, giving it a technological and commanding look.

The launch colour, Stellar Blue, is not a simple paint: it is a highly saturated metallic finish that shifts with the light, ranging from intense glints to a deep, cosmic blue. It is a detail designed for those who want their car to also be a statement of style.

Interior: an SUV with the soul of a spaceship

Inside, the OMODA 3 opts for an ambience inspired by science fiction. The dashboard lines evoke unfolded wings, with configurable ambient lighting, premium-looking materials such as carbon fibre, and a multimedia system that can be personalised to the driver’s mood.

A curious detail: despite the digital display, OMODA retains physical buttons with a mechanical aesthetic, a sensible choice for those who still value real tactile feedback over endless touch menus. The manufacturer describes it as a balance between the analogue and the digital.

Price and launch: the statement move

If OMODA delivers on its promises, the starting price will hover around €20,000 in Europe, a very competitive figure compared with most current urban electric cars, which typically start several thousand euros higher.

The launch is scheduled for early 2026, with Spain among the first countries of arrival. It is a strategic move: the Spanish market is particularly price-sensitive, and an electric car of this size and cost could become a genuine “Trojan horse” against established mainstream brands.

The OMODA 3 is just one piece of the global strategy of OMODA & JAECOO, which in 2025 became the fastest-growing car brand in Europe. While OMODA targets a young audience with radically styled crossover offerings, JAECOO aims at premium off-road, challenging Land Rover and Jeep on their own turf.

Technology also plays a key role: the group already boasts its Super Hybrid System (SHS) and parallel projects such as the AiMOGA robot, which reinforce the image of a brand that does not want to be merely a car manufacturer, but a leading player in digital and intelligent mobility.
