Lamborghini has unveiled the Fenomeno Roadster, a supercar that will be built in a limited edition, just like its coupé sibling

Almost a year ago Lamborghini presented what we could consider its latest major model to join its lineup, the Fenomeno, a supercar that combines a spectacular V12 with a hybrid system to exceed the 1,000 CV mark. This model is so exclusive and special that the brand announced it would build only 29 units, to which the convertible version will now be added.

Just like the coupé version, the Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster will also be built as a strictly limited edition and will be even more exclusive than the coupé, as the Italian brand has confirmed that only 15 units will be built for the whole world, and they will be just as special, since the Fenomeno Roadster will include its own elements that bring it closer to the values achieved by the coupé version.

In this regard, Lamborghini has completely redesigned the upper surfaces of the Fenomeno Roadster with new aerodynamic elements that help it achieve almost identical values in terms of downforce, stability and balance to the Fenomeno Coupé. That is why we find elements such as the additional spoiler positioned above the windscreen, which channels air toward the new engine cover, achieving the same effect as the coupé version with its S-Duct, or elements that might seem secondary, such as the carbon roll hoops, which in addition to performing their necessary function are also efficient at minimising wind noise and turbulence.

As you have read above, the Fenomeno Roadster features a new transparent engine cover with hexagonal air intakes, even framing the engine with a hexagonal element, something we could consider a kind of aesthetic signature that also carries over to other elements such as the side skirts, wheel arches, air intakes and the shape of the LED lights. This leaves us with a supercar that will be recognisable at first glance by its sculpted front with large air intakes, pronounced side surfaces with wide sill extensions, and the air intakes located behind the doors, as well as the large rear diffuser together with the active rear wing in ultralight carbon fibre that bears the Fenomeno Roadster logo.

The cabin of the Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster is flooded with carbon fibre, Dinamica’s Corsatex and the patented Carbon Skin material, present in areas such as the doors, the dashboard and seats with contrasting red stitching. An interior with quality materials that blends with other technological elements such as the combination of three digital screens with hexagonal graphics, haptic buttons and switches inspired by aviation.

Beneath all this bodywork lies a chassis that combines a monocoque made entirely of carbon fibre and a front structure in Forged Composite inspired by aerospace, although this is not strictly a novelty, as Lamborghini had already used this combination on the Revuelto. In the Fenomeno Roadster a level of rigidity similar to the coupé version has been achieved, something Lamborghini has accomplished thanks to a novel combination of long and short carbon fibres and a patented fluid mix.

Mechanically, the Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster continues to use the V12 HPEV hybrid propulsion system, which combines a 6,500 cc naturally aspirated V12 producing 835 CV and 725 Nm of torque with three electric motors (two at the front and one mounted above the dual-clutch gearbox) to reach a combined output of 1,080 CV, plus a 7 kWh battery. This system allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and reach a top speed of over 340 km/h.

All this power reaches the road through the 265/30 ZRF21 (front) and 355/25 ZRF22 (rear) tyres signed by Bridgestone, specifically Potenza Sport models, while braking is handled by CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic discs, which can be paired with organic competition brake pads.
