The Mercedes GLC F-Cell and the future EQC travel to Sweden to face winter testing
Mercedes has taken the pre-production EQC and GLC F-Cell to Sweden, where both models have faced the harsh cold to test their endurance.

Cars have run into a major problem, one that directly affects their combustion engines, since they contribute to appalling pollution. Nevertheless, every brand is looking for solutions, and one of them is, without a doubt, Mercedes. The three-pointed star brand has just announced that the GLC will be the one to incorporate a 100% electric powertrain with a fuel cell and, at the same time, the future production EQC has been its companion on this tough journey through Sweden.
The German brand has not only been responsible for developing both models up to their 100% production version, but has also taken them to the snow to test them under various adverse conditions. The same thing happened with the eVito, which chose the same destination to measure its capabilities as an electric vehicle.
For now, Mercedes has not made any major statements about the production GLC F-Cell and EQC, since both are keeping all their secrets under lock and key ahead of their full presentation at the Geneva Motor Show. However, taking this step requires more than 500 tests on each and every Mercedes model, and these increase when it comes to an electric vehicle, as is the case here.

This is because, as we have told you on other occasions, hybrid or electric vehicles use certain elements that are not present in a car whose powertrain runs on petrol. To make sure that both the new GLC F-Cell and the EQC are ready to face production and therefore reach the hands of a customer, the company has decided to subject them to a series of extreme tests.
Both models have faced temperatures as low as minus thirty degrees Celsius, which has allowed Mercedes engineers to check how electric vehicles react to adverse weather. For example, thanks to these conditions, it has been possible to study how low temperatures affect battery charging, starting the battery or the use of the various comfort features incorporated into the German electric cars.

For now we do not know the exact details of the future EQC, but we have been able to see it in motion and under camouflage. We can notice that it adopts a styling very similar to that of the other SUVs from Mercedes, but it has certain features that give it a more futuristic and, at the same time, clean look. Luckily, we will not have to wait much longer to see both models first-hand, since the Geneva Motor Show starts next Monday, when the brand will present the GLC F-Cell and the EQC.
