The Russian brand Volga is returning to the market, but under the Geely umbrella
The Volga brand was quite well known in Russia, although it stopped being sold a few years ago. It is now back with the support of Geely and will launch two new models.

The arrival of Chinese brands is significantly changing how the markets of European countries work. Chinese models are quickly carving out a place for themselves, but they are not the only ones doing so. Chinese brands are working with other European brands that already have a history in the market and are collaborating with them. Volga is not a well-known brand on the continent, but it is in Russia.
It disappeared a few years ago, but now, with the exodus of traditional brands from the Russian market, it is returning, though backed by Geely. The brand used to offer saloons intended for government use and for taxi service. So the launch of two models is planned, the C50 and the K50, although neither of these two models is of Russian manufacture.

This is not new. In 2024 it was already announced that Volga would return with three new models based on the Changan platform, but in the end this launch did not happen. However, in 2026 it seems that things will be different and that Volga will return to the Russian market with new proposals.
The two Volga models
Volga is proposing two models. The first of them is the Volga K50, an SUV that is identical to the Geely Monjaro. There are not many differences from the original model, except for the front grille, where the brand emblem has been fitted. This model uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 328 CV. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.

The Volga C50 is a traditional saloon based on the Geely Preface. As in the previous case, there are not many differences from the original model. The front grille is also new, to accommodate the Volga brand. The rest remains identical to the Chinese model and offers all the features found in the original.
Its look is elegant, as a vehicle of this type requires. The interior has not undergone any changes either, and you will find the same four-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster and a vertically oriented multimedia screen.
As for the engine, it features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder block, available in two power outputs, 150 and 200 CV. The engine is paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Both models will be built at the Nizhny Novgorod plant, where the Group Volkswagen used to build the models of the parent brand and Skoda. For now, the launch price is not known, but we are certain that these models will be limited to the Russian market.
