The SEAT León Cupra gets aggressive thanks to the work of JE Design

Almost a year ago, SEAT gave the León Cupra a slight facelift, making it more interesting and attractive to buyers. Now, the tuner JE Design has decided to give the model a touch that takes it a step further. It has done so by working on its main characteristics, offering an increase in power and better performance. The result can be seen in a gallery of images, but we also offer you the information you need to know and cannot see in the photos.

The company has developed two versions of the model, both above the one we know. One of them has raised the engine power from the 300 CV it has as standard to 355 CV. The maximum torque has also been increased, rising from 380 Nm to 450 Nm in this first option, which is more restrained than the other. The top speed of this version has also grown, just as power and torque have, reaching a considerable 265 km/h. And if we talk about the second stage carried out by the company, things go even further.

In this second configuration the power reaches 375 CV, accompanied by a maximum torque of 470 Nm, taking it to a top speed of 280 km/h and even up to 285 km/h if the electronic limiter is removed. This places this configuration of the León Cupra slightly below one of the most powerful compacts on the market, the Audi RS3 Sportback, which, unlike the León Cupra’s 2.0-litre engine, uses a larger, heavier and, in theory, more efficient 2.5-litre block.

The exhaust is usually important in this type of modification, since the sound tends to make the car even more interesting. In this case it is stainless steel, and buyers can choose between four 80 mm round outlets or two oval ones measuring 140×90 mm or 160×90 mm. The sound is controlled through the driving mode selector, so the driver can vary how the car sounds depending on the style of driving chosen.

Other elements applied to this car include widened wheel arches, side skirts, a redesigned front bumper, black rear diffusers and the adjustable spoiler installed at the rear to improve aerodynamics. The 10×20-inch wheels fitted with 265/25 Hankook S1-Evo tyres enhance the image of dynamism of a car that impresses both for its looks and its performance.

Continuing with this, there is the option of sports suspension that lowers the car’s ride height by 20mm closer to the asphalt, or replacing it with an adjustable KW DDC suspension that lowers it a further 45 mm compared with the standard model.
