BMW Serie 3 Sedans Family Range / versions
The Spanish market will receive the new BMW Series 3 at the end of July

From 25 July, BMW will allow customers in Spain to buy the facelifted Series 3 in its Saloon and Touring estate bodies. The model, which celebrates its fortieth anniversary in 2015, receives minimal styling changes that conceal a more noteworthy readjustment of its engine range, as well as recalibrations of the steering and suspension, and new equipment elements.
Unlike the new Series 7 and X1, the Series 3 will offer from the outset practically all the powertrains presented at its unveiling. The only exception is the 330e plug-in hybrid version, which will launch in 2016. Its drivetrain combines a petrol engine and an electric motor that together deliver a maximum output of 252 CV and consume 2.1 l/100 km on the combined cycle.

The range of petrol engines includes one of the update’s key novelties. The 316i gives way as the entry point to the new 318i with 136 CV, the first three-cylinder in the Series 3. It is inherited from the Series 2 Active Tourer and Gran Tourer and from the MINI Cooper — which we tested in this same version a few months ago in Highmotor — and Clubman. In the saloon it returns an average consumption of 5.0 l/100 km.
The 328i becomes the 330i, whose four-cylinder engine raises its output to 252 CV, and the 335i is replaced by the 340i, also six-cylinder but with 20 extra CV — 326 versus 306 — . Both reduce their consumption by 0.8 and 0.7 l/100 km respectively.

There are fewer changes in the diesel alternatives. Output of the 318d and 320d rises to 150 and 190 CV, and a version above the 330d called 335d appears. It has 313 CV and is exclusively paired with xDrive all-wheel drive and the automatic gearbox — as is the 330d. The 320d EfficientDynamics is now called 320d ED and its efficiency has been improved: it needs 3.8 litres to cover 100 km, three tenths less than before.
As standard, the model comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, a multifunction steering wheel trimmed in leather, rain and light sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, tyre pressure monitoring, a front centre armrest, hands-free system with USB port, BMW Professional radio with a 6.5-inch screen and iDrive controller, and intelligent emergency call to emergency services.

Building on this standard equipment, customers can enhance it to their liking through the Advantage, Sport, Luxury and M Sport trim levels, which modify the vehicle’s exterior and interior or, in certain cases, the tuning of mechanical components. The announced prices follow:
