Volvo begins accepting orders for its new EX60 SUV in the Canadian market
The EX60 combines cutting-edge technology, efficiency and the characteristic focus on safety and quality of Volvo, positioning itself as a very attractive option in the growing premium electric market.
Volvo has officially opened orders for the EX60, its new mid-size electric SUV, in the Canadian market. First deliveries to customers of the all-wheel-drive version are scheduled for late 2026, with a starting price of CAD 77,500 -roughly 48 thousand euros at current exchange rates-.
Officially unveiled last January, the EX60 rolls off the assembly line at Volvo’s main plant in Torslanda (Gothenburg, Sweden), alongside combustion and hybrid models such as the XC60 and V60.

The Swedish brand defines this new electric SUV as a completely disruptive vehicle within its range, a status reinforced by the fact that it is the first model from the brand based on the new SPA3 platform. This architecture incorporates significant technical advances, such as the HuginCore computing system, cell-to-body integration, electric motors developed in-house by Volvo itself, a new battery cell design and mega casting. All of these technologies aim to improve energy efficiency, increase range and reduce the vehicle’s weight.
A single version at launch
For now, Canada only offers the P10 AWD version, which delivers an estimated range of up to 514 kilometres on the EPA cycle. The manufacturer also promises that it can increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
Customers in this market can choose between two trim levels: Plus, starting at CAD 77,500, and Ultra, from CAD 84,000. The latter includes a panoramic roof, higher-quality interior materials, ventilated front seats, advanced parking assistance systems, additional driving technologies and exclusive design details.

The EX60 stands out for its excellent aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient of 0.26, thanks to its low nose, sloping roofline and refined flanks. Inside, the flat floor and extended wheelbase noticeably improve passenger space and storage capacity. Its infotainment system is based on Android Automotive, making it the first Volvo model to feature Gemini, Google’s artificial intelligence assistant.
With this model, Volvo makes a strong entry into the mid-size electric SUV segment. The reception has been so positive that the company has already announced it is considering keeping its Swedish plant open for an additional week during the summer to increase production, even before orders begin in North America.
