EX60 Volvo Electric Cars ECO SUV
With up to 810 km of range, the new Volvo EX60 aims to be the definitive electric SUV
Volvo enters the mid-large electric SUV segment with the new EX60, and does so with a very clear goal: to eliminate range anxiety and doubts for those coming from a combustion-engine car.

Volvo makes a bold move in the most competitive segment of the electric market with the new EX60, a 4.80-metre SUV born with a very clear goal: to eliminate range anxiety once and for all. And it does so with figures that place it directly among the benchmarks of its category. In its longest-range version, the Volvo EX60 is capable of covering up to 810 kilometres on a single charge according to the WLTP cycle, a figure that sets a new standard among electric SUVs, overtaking the BMW iX3 in the ranking of cars sold in our market that can cover the most kilometres on a single battery charge.
A particularly relevant point for those seeking an electric vehicle without compromise on long journeys, and which puts the EX90 in a very strong position against its rivals—among which, besides the iX3, we also find cars of the calibre of the electric Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Audi Q6 e-tron. And with an extra point in favour of the Swedish model over the German trio: it is one of the most affordable. It is already available on the Volvo configurator, with a starting price of 64,900 euros.
More kilometres per charge and less time plugged in
The EX90 boasts not only range but also charging power. Thanks to the SPA3 platform of the Geely Group with an 800-volt architecture, it can recover up to 340 km of range in just 10 minutes when connected to a 400 kW fast charger. In practice, and although we have heard this phrase for a long time when talking about charging times of electric cars, here we can indeed say that a coffee break is enough to continue the journey with a more than reasonable margin. Charging times to go from 10 to 80% are also very short: under 20 minutes.

The new Volvo electric SUV is offered with three mechanical configurations:
- EX60 P6: rear-wheel drive, a 374 CV motor, 83 kWh battery, 0-100 km/h in 5.9 s, up to 620 km of WLTP range
- EX60 P10 AWD: two motors, all-wheel drive, system power of 510 CV, 0-100 km/h in 4.6 s, 95 kWh battery, up to 660 km of range
- EX60 P12 AWD: two motors, all-wheel drive, system power of 680 CV, 0-100 km/h in 3.9 s, 117 kWh battery, up to 810 km of range
As standard, all EX60s come with a 22 kW onboard charger and the Plug&Charge function, which allows the car to be charged at a compatible public charging station without using apps or cards. Volvo offers a warranty of up to 8 years or 160,000 km for the battery, which can be extended to 10 years or 240,000 km if the maintenance plan programmed by the brand is followed.

The EX60 can be chosen with two trim levels, Plus and Ultra, with an extra cost of about 7,300 euros for the Ultra finish, which adds elements such as the 360 camera, high-definition pixel headlights, Bower & Wilkins audio system, heated steering wheel, electrochromic roof, 21-inch wheels, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, and specific décor and upholstery. As for prices, for the same trim the P10 version carries an extra cost of 3,025 euros over the P6, and 9,075 euros in the case of the P12. These are the starting prices:
- EX60 P6 Plus: 64,900 €
- EX60 P10 AWD Plus: 67,950 €
- EX60 P12 AWD Plus: 73,975 €
Technology serving comfort
The EX60 debuts the new SPA3 platform, with batteries integrated into the body and a lighter, more efficient structure, designed to allow maximum scalability, modularity, manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction. According to the brand, the new EX60 achieves the lowest carbon footprint among the current 100% electric Volvo models, placing it on the level of the much smaller EX30. And one of the keys to achieving this is its design, which in many respects also recalls its “bigger brother”, the EX90, and achieves a drag coefficient of 0.26, a very competitive figure in this segment.

Inside, the approach is the usual one at Volvo: plenty of space, sustainable materials and a strong technological load, all serving comfort. Notably, for the first time at Volvo, the integration of the Google Gemini AI assistant and a faster, more intuitive infotainment system, designed to reduce distractions and improve the daily experience. Unlike what has become customary in the brand’s models, the EX60 places its 15-inch multimedia screen in a horizontal rather than vertical position.
The EX60 is also the first Volvo to feature speakers in the headrests of the four main seats, as well as the Apple Music service preinstalled with Dolby Atmos. The boot reaches 523 litres of capacity, expandable to 1,647 litres by folding down the rear seats. And under the front bonnet there is an additional 58-litre compartment.
Volvo EX60 Cross Country: more off-road capability
Also as is customary for the brand, the EX60 will be offered in the Cross Country variant, with aesthetic and technical modifications to give it a look and more “crossover” qualities. Compared with the standard EX60, the reference ground clearance increases by 20 mm, and it can increase by a further 20 mm thanks to the adaptive air suspension, which also allows the height to be lowered when driving on the motorway to improve aerodynamics and not penalise range.

Among the specific details of this version, the wheels, the Cross Country badges on the bumpers and rear pillar, and the stainless-steel underbody protectors at the front and rear stand out. In the case of the EX60 Cross Country, the range includes the two all-wheel-drive versions, the P10 AWD and the P12 AWD, with the same power as the EX60 but with slightly less range.
Volvo is already accepting orders for the EX90, which will begin production at the brand’s factory in Sweden in spring. The P6 and P10 versions will be the first to arrive at dealerships this summer, while the P12 will arrive a little later.
