ABT RS6 Johann Abt Signature Edition: the definitive RS6

ABT’s new machine pays tribute to Johann Abt, who founded this company 125 years ago to build dreams, no less.

German tuner ABT turns 125 years old, more than enough reason to carry out one of its most radical creations to date. With 800 hp and a limited run of units, they wanted to celebrate their anniversary in style.

One step beyond what they had already done

Until now, ABT sold the RS6 ABT Sportsline, a tuned version of the Audi estate that raised its output to 740 hp. But ABT, not satisfied with that, wanted to make a statement and show us what they are capable of with this version, limited to just 64 units.

This masterpiece will be produced by hand at a rate of 6 cars per month until the 64 units are complete, each one incorporating inside it a fragment of the first anvil that Johann Abt himself used in his car-tuning forge.

This RS6 Johann Abt was designed in the wind tunnel, which gives it 150 kilograms of extra downforce compared with the standard version from the brand of the four rings.

Signatures of its founder to give it a more special touch

The ABT RS6 Johann Abt Signature Edition features the aerodynamic package of the RS6-R and has a newly designed front bumper with larger air intakes to cool the heart of the machine. In addition, the new spoiler integrated under the front bumper carries the signature of Johann Abt, the founder.

On its flanks, in keeping with the intimidating front end, the Johann Abt Signature Edition gets sportier side skirts and forged wheels of 22 inches, which save 3.5 kilograms of weight per wheel. The ride height has been lowered thanks to new springs and anti-roll bars tuned for exquisite handling.

At the rear, a large diffuser accompanies its four stainless-steel exhaust outlets of 102 millimetres (wide enough to fit a whole fist), producing an almost heavenly sound.

The interior of this RS6 features seats upholstered in black leather with red stitching, matching the carbon-fibre exterior details in the same colour. The door trims and dashboard also feature this tinted carbon fibre, which gives it a truly attractive look.

A heart with aircraft-grade figures

Under the bonnet lies the car’s star component: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with oversized new turbos, larger intercoolers and a new control unit that raises its output to 800 hp and a fearsome 980 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 9.8 seconds, 0–300 in 28.3 seconds, and a top speed of 330 km/h.
