Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen, new solutions for professional needs
Citroën aims to electrify its commercial vehicle range before the end of this year, and its new proposal is the ë-Jumpy Hydrogen

The PSA Group continues its strong offensive in the commercial vehicle market, offering new electric mobility solutions for professionals. Only a few days ago we saw how a sister brand, Peugeot, announced the arrival of the E-Expert Hydrogen, a fuel cell-based electric van, a formula that is now being transferred to Citroën.
Citroën is now the one debuting with hydrogen, announcing the upcoming arrival of the ë-Jumpy Hydrogen, a model that completes a range that began with the update of the Jumpy and continued with the arrival, last summer, of its electric version, the ë-Jumpy. The new Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen completes a range that will be fully electrified by the end of this year, made up of the two previous models along with the My Ami Cargo, the ë-Berlingo and the ë-Jumper, which will also reach the market soon.

The new Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen, which, by the way, will be manufactured at the brand’s plant in Russelsheim, Germany, will be offered in two sizes: M, 4,950 mm long, and XL, 5,300 mm long. Despite having three hydrogen tanks, capable of storing up to 4.4 kg at a pressure of up to 700 bar and refuelling in just 3 minutes, and a 10.5 kWh battery located in the cabin under the seats, it retains the same load capacity and volume, reaching up to 6.6 m³.
Aesthetically, the Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen will not differ from its electric sibling, the ë-Jumpy, as you can see it keeps the same differences compared to the combustion-engine version, such as the central grille above the bumper, which has now been covered. The only difference is found in the charging flaps: it has one on the front left wing for the battery and another on the same side but on the rear wing, intended for hydrogen refuelling.

Mechanically, the Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen uses a permanent-magnet electric motor with an approximate power of 134 CV and a torque of 260 Nm. Using the energy supplied by hydrogen, the ë-Jumpy Hydrogen will offer an approximate range of 400 km, to which we must add the 50 km of range offered by the battery, which switches on automatically when the hydrogen tanks run empty.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the new Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen will reach the markets this same year, specifically next autumn, so we will still have to wait a little to find out its price in Spain.
