Cupra Raval: an urban electric car with design and character

One of the brand’s most anticipated models, which aims to democratise electrification without losing the character and agility that defines every Cupra model, but in a new, practical and versatile format.

Built on the MEB+ platform, it measures 4.04 metres long, 1.78 m wide and 1.52 m high, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, which maximises the available space in the cabin. It offers a 430-litre boot, as there is no high-voltage component located at the rear of the car.

Special attention has been paid to aerodynamics to ensure efficiency, with an optimised airflow strategy in which components such as the C-pillars, the front air curtains, the aerodynamic wheels, the flush door handles, the rear spoiler and the active grille work together to control air resistance.

Customisable at will

The Raval will be available with a wide range of personalisation options and new colours, including iridescent Plasma and exclusive matt tones, along with two two-tone roof combinations. In addition, the 12-speaker Sennheiser audio system and the E-Launch function are offered.

Up to eight wheel designs are available: one 17″, two 18″ and five 19-inch, a palette of seven exterior colours, with an iridescent option and several matt tones, such as Manganese Mate and Bronce Century Mate, and a two-tone design with a Manhattan Grey or Midnight Black roof.

The floating centre console and different finishing atmospheres stand out in the interior. The Pulse trim features sporty seats upholstered in 100% recycled material in the central sections of the front and rear seats, while the Inmersive adds electrically adjustable Bucket seats, memory function and recycled microfibre upholstery on the backrests and headrests.

The Feel trim incorporates Bucket seats covered in vegan leather, with headrests and recycled material on the central part of the front and rear seats. The top-of-the-range Ahead stands out for its CUP Bucket seats with 3D fabric and 3D-printed elements on the dashboard.

It also offers seven selectable interior lighting ambiences, with specific animations at certain key moments while driving, for example when the E-Launch function is activated, a system projecting customisable animated graphics onto the door panels, an instrument cluster integrated with a 10.25-inch screen and another 12.9-inch screen for the infotainment system, a compact steering wheel and paddles for regenerative braking.

Latest-generation technology

It features a new electric drive system focused on reducing components, weight and energy consumption. At its heart is the APP 290 electric motor, combined with a PowerCo unified cell battery integrated into the floor using “cell-to-pack” technology. By eliminating the module housings, weight and space are reduced while energy density increases by around 10%, which translates into greater range and efficiency.

It is the first model from the brand equipped with the “One Box” electronic braking system, which combines the brake booster and ESC modules with front and rear disc brakes. It also features “One-pedal driving” modes and E-Launch. The VZ version (226 CV / 166 kW) includes DCC Sport suspension with greater stiffness (+5%), an ESC deactivation mode, 19-inch wheels with wider tyres (235 mm), an electronic self-locking differential, specific steering ball joints, and more.

Four versions available

Customers can choose between four trims and four motor-battery configurations: the Raval with 116 CV (85 kW) and a 37 kWh battery (LFP), which claims a range of around 300 km, can charge on AC at up to 11 kW and up to 90 kW on DC, allowing it to go from 10 to 80% SOC in around 27 minutes. It will not arrive until next September and will have a starting price of around 26,000 euros.

The Raval Dynamic increases its power to 135 CV (99 kW), while keeping the same 37 kWh battery and the same charging and range characteristics as the previous version. It is offered from 32,600 euros.

The Dynamic Plus reaches 211 CV (155 kW) and features a 52 kWh battery (NMC), which allows a range of around 450 km. It can also charge at up to 11 kW on AC, but rises to 130 kW on DC, so it could reach 80% SOC from 10% in around 23 minutes. Its price starts at 34,755 euros.

15 Cupra Raval Plasma

The top-of-the-range VZ, offered from 40,265 euros, increases its power to 226 CV (166 kW) with a 52 kWh battery and reduces the range to around 400 km, while keeping the same charging characteristics as the Dynamic Plus version.

It features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which allows external devices to be powered from the car, as well as the MyCupra App with e-Route Planner and preset climate control settings, such as “Refresh & Warm-up” or ambient lighting, and Plug & Charge for charging without physical cards or apps.
