Easter Jeep Safari 2022: the most spectacular Jeep, conquering Moab

The event no Jeep enthusiast wants to miss, the Easter Jeep Safari, returns once again full of surprises. Jeep takes the off-road capabilities of its iconic models a step further with five prototypes joining the Jeep Performance Parts by Mopar builds, exclusive customisations that will delight fans of the brand… and of any 4×4 enthusiast. Let’s take a look!
Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0

At the previous Easter Jeep Safari, the Wrangler Magneto already demonstrated the possibilities of an alternative propulsion system and how well this technology could fit the attributes that have always characterised a car like the Jeep Wrangler, which already has its PHEV version, the Wrangler 4xe.
Now, in this second version, the Jeep Magneto features a new axial-flux electric motor, a six-speed manual gearbox and four battery packs spread across the chassis to achieve better weight distribution. But that’s not all: the battery system runs at 800 volts and uses an inverter derived from those fitted to competition cars, doubling the amperage… and tripling the maximum torque of the first Wrangler Magneto. This allows an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h… in just 2 seconds!
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk PHEV

Based on the first Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which reaches the market this very spring, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk PHEV uses a plug-in hybrid propulsion system with two electric motors, a 2-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, a 400-volt battery pack and the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension, with a disconnecting anti-roll bars system, ensures no trail can resist it.

For the Easter Jeep Safari prototype, the brand has chosen a striking blue body colour, combined with Trailhawk decals and vinyls in black and matt blue. There are also customised 20-inch wheels in grey, widened wheel arches, quadruple fog lights and a specific roof rack with integrated anchors to secure cargo.
Jeep 41 Concept

As a tribute to the first Jeep vehicles, and this year with the focus on the Wrangler Willys, the Jeep 41 Concept features an eye-catching military look combined with the propulsion technology of the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. It therefore incorporates a petrol combustion engine and two electric motors, which ensure the ability to drive silently… or to overcome any obstacle thanks to 4×4 traction and robust suspensions.

The bodywork is finished in military matt green, with black powder-coated steel bumpers standing out. The soft top is canela-coloured, and the new concept of half-doors allows even greater contact with the outside. The cabin features a retro-style gear lever, seats upholstered in canvas with camouflage inserts and a special floor covering.
Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept

Two decades ago, Jeep presented the Wrangler Rubicon, which can be considered the production model with the best 4×4 qualities in the brand’s range. That legendary model was based on the two-door Wrangler from 2002, and a legion of followers quickly emerged, eager to get one. Equipped with Dana 44 axles, front and rear differential locks, disconnecting anti-roll bar and oversized tyres, demand was so high that Jeep soon decided to put it into series production.

Now, the Rubicon 20th Anniversary prototype is based on the most powerful Wrangler built to date, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, with its powerful 6.4-litre V8 under the bonnet, an unmistakable exterior design and a customised interior. The electric roof with removable side panels is undoubtedly one of the appeals of this car, especially for enjoying the unmistakable sound of the active exhaust system fitted to the V8 engine. The concept features a JPP body lift kit, 17-inch Mopar wheels and a Warn winch, among other accessories.
Jeep Bob Concept

The Jeep Bob Concept has an impressive look, based on a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, from which the four doors and B-pillars have been removed, and fitted with a special roof with a soft top colour-matched to the wheels and seat upholstery. The bumpers have also been customised to improve approach and departure angles. Its true 4×4 capability, however, is enhanced by Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 axles and 20-inch wheels with bead-lock.

In this case, the engine is a 3-litre V6 turbodiesel, connected to the transmission through an eight-speed TorqueFlite 8HP75 automatic gearbox. The engine features a Mopar air intake mounted on the carbon-fibre bonnet to improve performance.
Jeep D-coder Concept by JPP

An example of how far personalisation can go with JPP and Mopar accessories is this Jeep Gladiator, fitted with more than 35 of these parts, which stand out in red. All of them carry a corresponding QR identification code, turning this Jeep into a rolling catalogue for showcasing the build kits.

For example, this build includes a three-piece modular front bumper with integrated LED lights and winch, 17-inch wheels, a lift kit with FOX shock absorbers, a snorkel so the Pentastar 3.6 engine can “breathe” during water crossings, and steel rails that serve as doors or cargo protection system.
Jeep Birdcage Concept by JPP

The second model customised by JPP and Mopar is not as spectacular, at least visually. But who wouldn’t want this Wrangler 4xe Birdcage in their garage, prepared to get the most out of its plug-in hybrid propulsion system? It comes with a corresponding body lift kit (2 inches) with FOX shock absorbers exclusive to this version, special underbody protection, tow hooks, 17-inch JPP wheels, and special lights to illuminate the terrain at all four corners of the vehicle…

You surely hadn’t noticed with so many details that, as part of the customisation, the front windscreen has been removed. The Mopar design team has also created a special roof structure, with a Rhino-Rack cargo basket above the roll cage. The interior even includes an on-board air compressor.
