Imagining a Peugeot 308 GTi Sedan

A few days ago, during the Beijing Motor Show, the French lion brand made official the Peugeot 308 Sedan. A vehicle developed on the basis of the Peugeot 308 five-door that is sold in Europe but focused and created exclusively for the Chinese market.
In this digital rendering, X-Tomi Design wanted to take things a step further and show us what a high-performance version of the car would look like. They simply used the silhouette of the Chinese market Peugeot 308 Sedan and applied the “goodies” of the GTi version of the European 308.
As we can see, the sporty and aerodynamic shapes of the front end remain, as do the eye-catching five double-spoke wheels in a black-grey two-tone finish and low-profile tyres. For the bodywork they have also chosen a two-tone colour, although in this case it is a distinctive and striking red and black: red for the front two-thirds and black for the rear third and the mirror housings.

It is only imagination, but on reflection, if the European market had access to the Peugeot 308 Sedan, a four-door version with the engines of the GTi versions of the French compact, it could be more than attractive. A design with good reception in the old continent, more interior space and cargo capacity than the five-door 308, and enviable dynamism could relatively “triumph”.
In case you don’t remember, the Peugeot 308 GTi is available in two versions. Both use the same 1.6-litre engine, although with different outputs, and power reaches the road only through the front wheels. The more modest one delivers 250 horsepower, while the more powerful one delivers 270 horsepower. The main advantage of the GTi 270 is that, besides those 20 extra horsepower, it features a mechanical limited-slip differential, which considerably improves the compact’s traction in blistering launches from standstill (or low speed), on winding roads at high speeds, and in wet conditions.
What do you guys think? Do you believe the GTi Sedan would be worth it, or is the five-door version enough?
