Mercedes-AMG dazzles with its spectacular new four-door GT Coupé
With this four-door GT Coupé, Mercedes-AMG demonstrates that high performance and electrification can coexist while preserving the sporty and emotional essence that characterises the brand.
Mercedes-AMG has just unveiled its long-awaited new GT Coupé with a fully electric drivetrain. A high-performance model that marks the beginning of a new era for the brand from Affalterbach. This new model, built on the exclusive AMG.EA platform, delivers up to 860 kW of power and stands out for its ultra-rapid charging capability above 600 kW. Orders will open in the coming days, starting with the GT 63 and GT 55 versions.
The heart of the new model is three axial flux motors, a technology that Mercedes-AMG uses for the first time in a production vehicle. These motors, combined with a battery on an architecture developed with technology inspired by Formula 1, promise exceptional and sustained performance. The GT 63 version reaches 860 kW of power, while the GT 55 reaches 600 kW. According to the German firm, the architecture used will even allow exceeding 1,000 kW in the future.

The technical specifications of the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé leave anyone speechless. This beast is capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in just 2.1 seconds, and 200 km/h in 6.4 seconds, with its top speed electronically limited to 300 km/h with the Driver’s Package.
Plays in a different league
One of the main innovations of this new Mercedes-AMG model is its AMG HP.EB battery, developed together with the specialists at High Performance Powertrains in England. It uses cylindrical cells of new design with NCMA chemistry, individual direct cooling and an aluminium casing. With an energy density above 298 Wh/kg, this battery is optimised to deliver continuous power without fading, even under extreme demand. Mercedes-AMG announces a WLTP range of between 600 and 700 km, with the potential to exceed 700 km in the future.
Charging capacity is also impressive, making it a true distance eater. It can recover energy for roughly 460 additional km in just ten minutes, and goes from 10 to 80 percent charge in only 11 minutes. In addition, it is compatible with the main global fast-charging standards (CCS2, GB/T, CHAdeMO, CCS1 and NACS), depending on the market.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé incorporates advanced technical solutions such as the drive system with a front motor that disconnects to improve efficiency and engages instantly when more power or traction is needed. It also features a chassis with reduced roll control, rear-axle steering as standard, active aerodynamics and the AMG RACE ENGINEER function to personalise the vehicle’s behaviour.
In both its styling and its behaviour, it seeks to maintain the emotional character of AMG, even incorporating a simulated V8 sound in AMGFORCE S+ mode.

With this launch, inspired by the GT XX prototype of 2025, the first model of Mercedes-AMG’s new electric platform debuts, to be followed by an electric SUV based on the same architecture. Ola Källenius, head of the German firm, says this spectacular vehicle not only meets the brand’s expectations but raises them to a new level in the electric era.
