Alpine continues expanding its range with electric models, now with the A390, which is already arriving at dealerships, and with prices revealed for Spain

Alpine A390 (6)

Alpine has set out to become a brand of fully electric sports cars and, little by little, it keeps fulfilling its goal, which is nothing other than continuing to expand its range with this type of vehicle. The start came with the A290, which we were introduced to last summer, based on the Renault 5 E-Tech. Now it is the turn of the brand’s second fully electric model, the A390, which we were introduced to this past spring and which is finally arriving at dealerships.

As we saw at the time, the Alpine A390 is a sporty fastback that, although it aims to preserve the essence that made the models of the French brand so famous, breaks with what we knew until now: it will be a large model compared with those known so far, and it also has five seats. It is not a conventional sports car but a model that wants to be your companion both in everyday life and on those outings to enjoy its characteristics.

The Alpine A390 also comes with the distinction of being a 100% European vehicle, something that seems increasingly difficult to find in both combustion and electric models. Its assembly takes place at the Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé (France), its engines in Cléon and its batteries in Douai, with cells produced in Europe. And as we also mentioned, it will only be available in two versions, the first of which is called GT and includes standard equipment such as the following:

  • Adaptive matrix headlights
  • 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels
  • Michelin Sport EV tyres
  • Alcantara and Nappa leather upholstery
  • Alpine sports seats with perforated Alcantara
  • Heated seats with electric adjustment
  • Formula 1-inspired steering wheel
  • Customisable LED ambient lighting
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Devialet premium high-fidelity audio system with 13 speakers
  • Connected digital interface with 12-inch screen
  • Alpine Portal with integrated Google and 10 GB of monthly data
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keeping assist
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • 360º camera
  • Six airbags
  • Driver fatigue detector
  • Heat pump
  • 11 kW bidirectional charger

The second trim level, and one step up due to its engine, is called GTS, which includes standard equipment that complements the interior with elements such as the following:

  • 21-inch “Snowflake” aluminium wheels in gloss black finish
  • Specific Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres
  • Red-painted 6-piston monobloc front brake calipers
  • Alpine by Sabelt sports front seats
  • Heated seats with massage function and electric adjustment
  • Two-tone Nappa leather upholstery
  • Devialet XtremeSound audio system with 13 speakers and Space mode
  • Driving Pack

Alpine A390 (3)

Mechanically, the entry version of the A390 will be the GT trim, with three electric motors: one at the front with a wound rotor and two synchronous rear motors with permanent magnets, one for each wheel. Together they deliver 400 CV and 650 Nm of torque, which is sent to all four wheels in a controlled manner through all-wheel drive and the Alpine Active Torque Vectoring system. This setup allows the Alpine A390 to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h. Together with the 89 kWh battery, it offers a range of 555 km according to the WLTP test cycle.

Alpine A390 (2)

If we choose the Alpine A390 in GTS trim, we get the same motor configuration, except that in this case the power rises to 470 CV and the torque likewise increases to 824 Nm, so acceleration to 100 km/h drops to 3.9 seconds while top speed rises slightly to 220 km/h. The battery remains the same, as both share it, but with the higher power output the range is reduced to 520 km according to the WLTP cycle.

Alpine A390 (1)

The Alpine A390 will be available for order from 4 November for holders of the Alpine A390 Première Pass, who will have priority to request the GT version before general orders open on 18 November; the GTS version will not be available until early 2026. Alpine has confirmed that the A390 GT will have a starting price in Spain of 67,500 euros, while the A390 GTS will be available from 78,000 euros.
