The Ferrari 488 GTB reaches the next level thanks to Pogea Racing
The Ferrari 488 GTB has passed through the hands of Pogea Racing, a tuner who has set about squeezing every last drop of sportiness out of the Cavallino.

Limits in the automotive world are far removed from reality, since vehicles are always in constant evolution, either because the manufacturers themselves improve their products or because a third party decides to take a leap with certain models. We are referring to tuners, who show great eagerness to modify, improve and increase the performance of all kinds of cars but, above all, supercars. The Ferrari 488 GTB has been the test subject for Pogea Racing, which has managed to extract every last drop of sportiness from its supercharged V8.
The Prancing Horse brand has always been characterised by showing the world some of the most iconic and prestigious models in existence, but this is usually not enough for tuners. Pogea Racing has a long track record of applying its modifications to vehicles of Italian origin and, of course, the Ferrari was not going to be an exception. The 488 GTB has been presented as the ideal candidate to put to the test all the work that the German company has been developing over all this time.
The Italian supercar was one of the first models from the marque to abandon naturally aspirated engines in favour of forced induction to supply its powerplant with a considerable power increase over its predecessor. However, what the Ferrari did not know is that by turning to this type of engine, it was also opening the door to the most reckless tuners, eager to extract maximum performance from any car that passes through their hands.

Despite this, the tuning of the Ferrari 488 GTB’s mechanics is not the only thing that changes, as the styling has received a series of both aerodynamic and visual improvements designed to perfectly complement what lies beneath its skin. The front adopts a new carbon-fibre splitter – a material that features prominently in every type of tuning – along with more prominent and aggressive air intakes; the side is enhanced with carbon-fibre door sills and, to finish, the rear uses the same material to accentuate the central area and a spoiler puts the finishing touch on this especially special Ferrari.
However, the real star of these tuning projects is the engine, which undergoes a series of modifications that help it deliver even greater performance. The standard 3.9-litre V8 is capable of delivering 670 CV and 760 Nm of torque, figures that make it one of the most powerful of the Ferrari in history, but for Pogea Racing this was not enough. After some changes to the ECU and the exhaust system, the tuner has managed to extract a staggering 820 CV and 900 Nm of torque from its twin-turbo powerplant, allowing the Prancing Horse to reach 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds.

Without a doubt, the potential of today’s supercars remains hidden by many manufacturers, but tuners, unconvinced by this stance, decide to perform open-heart surgery and bring all of that power to the fore. With this tuning by Pogea Racing, the Ferrari has gained a competitor at home, since this modified 488 GTB is faster and more powerful than its most radical variant, the Pista.
