The Lexus UX takes its most aggressive side thanks to TRD
The Lexus UX has been put in the hands of Toyota Racing Development to bring out its sportier side and incorporate functional aerodynamic and dynamic elements

The equally tough and competitive compact crossover segment has had another contender for some time: the new Lexus UX, which arrives to compete with equally new or updated rivals in the premium field, such as the Audi Q2 or the Mercedes-Benz GLA. The Lexus proposition with the UX also promises interesting details, which will undoubtedly make it rival the rest as one of the best-selling models.
To reinforce this bet, the new Lexus UX has been put in the hands of Toyota Racing Development, the division of the Japanese brand that handles the sporting side of its vehicles, to bring out the sporty and aggressive side that is slightly hidden in the UX, although unfortunately all the elements we will see below are only available for Japan, or at least that is the brand’s intention for the moment.

The TRD team has developed a kit for the Lexus UX that not only features aesthetic details, but also elements that are fully functional and serve to improve both its aerodynamics and its dynamic behaviour. It can be fitted to both the front-wheel-drive version and the all-wheel-drive version, but only on the F SPORT versions.
The various exterior components can be chosen in the same colour as the bodywork or in gloss black if we want them to stand out. The exterior components include a front spoiler that lowers its height by 64 mm, newly designed wheel arches, mirror housings with a new design, a specific rear spoiler, a new diffuser that lowers the height at the rear by 61 mm, and new exhaust tips, now in stainless steel with a diameter of 76 mm. The finishing touch on the exterior is provided by the new 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels with chrome outer rings fitted with 225/50 tyres.

Finally, in the dynamic section, the TRD team has installed a transverse damper that helps reduce the noise and vibrations produced when driving at high speeds, as well as giving greater stability and handling on winding roads. The chassis reinforcements have also been improved, which help the suspension work more smoothly, while also lowering the overall height of the assembly by 29 mm.
