Electricity has become a way of life for virtually every car segment. Sports cars, compacts, and now also performance saloons such as the Porsche Taycan rely on this energy source to deliver genuinely surprising performance. The German firm has chosen to bet on electrification with this first model, which arrives set to combine luxury, sportiness, versatility and the ability to produce zero emissions to climb to the top of the sector.

But the Porsche Taycan was not the first electric performance saloon, which is why the battle is also present in this niche. The German firm has put great effort into developing this vehicle, but it has also managed to spur other brands on to create a car capable of rivalling the newly crowned king of the Nürburgring.

Tesla Model S

The American firm has already set its sights on the Porsche Taycan, as it demonstrated by heading to the Nürburgring in an attempt to take the crown. However, the lap time set by the Tesla Model S has not yet been made public, a model with a great thirst for revenge and which is prepared to do anything to keep its reputation intact.

Tesla lanza una gran actualización para los Model S, Model X y Model 3.

Let us remember that Tesla was one of the first companies to offer, at a more or less reasonable price, a level of performance and technology without precedent. But European brands have had plenty of room to learn and think about how to create electric vehicles too capable of rivalling this American titan.

Aston Martin Rapide e

Aston Martin was one of the first companies to make use of the coupé-saloon concept with the Rapide, a model that quickly caused a sensation. Over time, the British firm decided to go further with its flagship saloon and create a 100% electric variant with the aim of broadening the range of options and offering a high-performance vehicle capable of producing zero emissions.

It is true that the Rapide e is not a model that starts from scratch as the Taycan or the Model S do, but its 610 CV of power and its range of 310 kilometres make it a worthy rival to admire. On the other hand, the presence of this model also foreshadows the future of Aston Martin, which intends to give electric powertrains serious consideration.

Fisker EMotion

Fisker is, without a doubt, a pioneering brand in the field of electric saloons, as it demonstrated a few years ago with the Karma. Today, the American company is developing the EMotion, the successor to the Karma and a vehicle that promises to put on the ropes anyone who dares to challenge it.

For now, no dates are known for the arrival of the production version of the EMotion, but Fisker’s intentions are clear: to create the fastest electric saloon with the greatest range on the market. This is because the prototype has already shown its potential thanks to the more than 700 CV it claims and a range exceeding 640 kilometres.
