Polestar Polestar 3 Electric Cars SUV
The refreshed Polestar 3 2026 will feature an 800V architecture and improvements in charging times
Built on the SPA2 platform, shared with the Volvo EX90, the Polestar 3 2026 will also receive a new 800V architecture, with the efficiency and charging power improvements that this entails.
The Polestar 3 2026 will reach the market with a major technological upgrade that will position it as a benchmark in the luxury electric SUV segment. This model will integrate a new 800-volt electrical architecture, instead of the 400V of the current model, thus following the path set by other models from brands belonging to the Chinese giant Geely, as is the case with the Volvo EX90.
The new 800-volt architecture of the Polestar 3 2026 will allow this luxury electric SUV to support a maximum direct current charging power of 350 kW, which represents a notable advance over the 250 kW of the current model. This will translate into faster charging and less time lost at the charging point, making it possible to increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 22 minutes.

This new architecture will also offer a substantial improvement in vehicle efficiency, which according to the manufacturer’s estimates will increase total range by about 6 percent under the WLTP homologation cycle. The Polestar 3 2026 will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack with cells supplied by the Chinese giant CATL, with a capacity of 92 kWh for the version with a single motor located on the rear axle, and 106 kWh for the Dual and Performance versions with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive.
Thanks to all these improvements, Polestar promises a range of between 593 and 635 km for its refreshed luxury electric SUV, depending on the chosen configuration. It thus becomes a truly attractive option for families looking for a vehicle with generous interior space for long-distance trips.
The Polestar 3 Performance steps up a level
On the other hand, it is worth highlighting that the Performance version of the Polestar 3 combines a new permanent-magnet synchronous rear motor with a front one to deliver up to 500 kW combined, thus offering spectacular performance. This version also debuts improved anti-roll bars and a recalibrated steering, to optimise its handling and driving dynamics.

Another point to consider is the integration of the Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chip, more advanced than the one used until now. With a capacity of 254 trillion operations per second (TOPS), compared to the 30 TOPS of the previous model, this processor multiplies computing power by eight. This will ultimately mean a significant improvement in active safety systems, battery performance and sensor data processing. Current owners of the Polestar 3 will also be able to benefit from this update free of charge from 2026.
Versions available on the European market
In terms of configurations, the Polestar 3 2026 will be available in three versions: an entry-level one with a single rear motor, Dual and Performance. The lower-capacity battery pack is included in the rear-motor version to reduce its selling price and make it more competitive, while the active air suspension will be optional on the Dual variant and standard on the Performance.

Although the price has not yet been revealed, the model will arrive first in the United Kingdom due to high demand and the sell-out of the previous model’s units in that market. Other European markets will follow thereafter, although without confirmed dates.
