The SEAT Ibiza and Arona have undergone a restyle that refines their look with good taste and a more sporty character, as well as new interior materials

Seat Ibiza 2026 (4)

We can probably agree that the SEAT Ibiza is one of the automotive icons that roam our roads, with more than six million units sold since its launch in 1984 and five generations built. A few years later, in 2017, SEAT launched its SUV-bodied sibling, the Arona, which has also been successful despite its still short life, backed by more than 750,000 units sold since then.

A little over a month ago, SEAT announced that both models would undergo a restyle that would enhance both their exterior and interior image, a makeover that has finally arrived and that we can finally show you. As we can see, both models feature a redesigned front end sharing common elements and design, such as the new hexagonal-shaped front grille, which on the Arona is similar but larger, and flanked on both sides by the new Full LED headlights fitted as standard, with a more stylised design, as well as a new light signature.

Slightly lower down, a new bumper has also been installed, with the lower air intake also redesigned and of large size even on the Ibiza, though even larger on the Arona, helping both models to accentuate and stylise their width. The side air curtains also contribute to this, slightly different in design between the two but in both cases with dimensions that have also grown compared with the current models.

On the sides, the most significant change is in the wheels: SEAT has created four new wheel designs for the Ibiza, two of 17 inches and two of 18 inches, in either painted or machined finishes, while the Arona will offer two new 16-inch designs and others in 18 inches, also in the same finishes. At the rear, both also receive a new bumper and a diffuser that adds a more sporty character and, as with the front, helps increase the sense of width of both models.

Inside, both the SEAT Ibiza and the Arona keep the same design. The brand has focused on the materials, or rather the textures, used in the interior, going all-in on black. In this way, embossed patterned fabrics are used on the seats, textile inserts on the door panels, and soft-touch materials to give a feeling of higher quality, rounded off by a steering wheel upholstered in perforated leather.

Both models will be offered in three trim levels: a base version named after the model itself, that is, Ibiza or Arona, followed by an intermediate trim called Style, and at the top, the sporty FR trim. The latter, as you already know, features a distinctive exterior look with black styling details and new badges, as well as an interior with a more sporty atmosphere, thanks to bucket seats, specific ambient lighting and selectable driving modes, all rounded off by a higher standard equipment level.

Mechanically, both models share the same TSI petrol engines, although it is worth noting that the only difference is that the SEAT Ibiza has the 1.0 MPI three-cylinder unit with 80 CV and a manual gearbox, which is not available on the Arona. The rest are the same, starting with the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with 95 CV and a five-speed manual gearbox, which is also available in a 115 CV output with a six-speed manual gearbox and, later, with the seven-speed DSG automatic. The engine range ends with the 1.5 TSI four-cylinder with 150 CV and cylinder deactivation, paired only with the seven-speed DSG gearbox.

The arrival of the renewed SEAT Ibiza and Arona is expected, as the brand has confirmed, in the first quarter of 2026, so we will not be long in telling you about their full equipment and prices.
