Changan will sell its Avatr and Nevo vehicles in Europe within a couple of years
With this strategy, Changan aims to gain market share in Europe, taking advantage of the momentum that Chinese brand vehicles are enjoying on the continent.
Chinese manufacturer Changan plans to begin operations in the European market within a couple of years. In statements to the media, the group’s Vice President and Global Head of Design, Klaus Zyciora, has stated that the Avatr and Nevo battery electric vehicle brands will arrive on the Old Continent within that timeframe, although he has not specified a precise date.
Additionally, the company does not rule out selling vans and light commercial vehicles if it sees sufficient demand from European consumers.

Until now, Changan had focused its European offensive on the Deepal brand, with fully electric passenger cars. However, at an event held in Germany last spring of 2025, alongside the new Deepal models, it already showed prototypes and series-production vehicles from Avatr and Nevo, suggesting at that time that the electric models of these two brands could also reach Europe in the future.
At that event, Changan announced an ambitious plan that would see it sell eight models in Europe by 2027. The first to arrive, already in 2025, has been the Deepal S07, a mid-size battery electric SUV. The latter will soon be followed by the Deepal L07, somewhat more compact, which will also be offered with a range extender (EREV). Later, throughout 2026 and 2027, the Chinese manufacturer will launch the remaining six models in the European market, which will probably include the eye-catching Nevo E07, a crossover with an elongated silhouette and the styling of a closed pick-up, and the premium models Avatr 11 and Avatr 12
.
Not only electric
Alongside all these pure electric models, Changan could also bring to Europe some other plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and range-extended vehicles (EREV). However, this will depend on the market studies the company carries out to analyse whether they can have sufficient demand.
Finally, it should be noted that the marketing of all these Changan vehicles under different brands is justified because each one of them targets a different audience. Deepal aims to attract young drivers and technology enthusiasts, Avatr is positioned in the premium segment with notably higher prices, while the main Changan brand will continue to focus on meeting the needs of families.
Technically, the future Changan models under their different brands promise an outstanding level of performance. For example, the Nevo E07 will feature an 800-volt architecture, a really high maximum supported charging power and will offer a range of between 520 and 650 km under the Chinese CLTC cycle. The Avatr 11 and 12, for their part, will sit at a higher level with up to 425 kW of combined power and more than 700 km of range§h28§ in versions with the largest-capacity battery pack, positioning them as direct rivals to high-end European and American offerings.
