Geely expects 75 percent of its sales in 2030 to be electrified vehicles
Looking ahead to 2030, Geely aims to move from being a strong competitor in volume and price to becoming a global leader in quality and innovation.
Geely, the Chinese automotive giant that owns the brands Polestar, Volvo, Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Lotus and Geely Auto, has just presented its ambitious strategic plan with its sights set on the year 2030. On the occasion of its fortieth anniversary, the Chinese company has defined a roadmap under the motto “One Geely, Leading through Innovation and Integration” -One Geely, leading through innovation and integration-.
The central goal of this new strategy is to drive much closer collaboration between all of its brands, moving beyond the independent management model that has characterised the group until now. This global integration encompasses not only the Chinese brands Geely Auto, Geely Galaxy, Zeekr and Lynk & Co, but also the international brands Volvo, Polestar and Lotus. It also refers to alliances such as the joint venture it holds alongside Mercedes-Benz to develop vehicles under the Smart brand, or the recent collaboration with Renault.

In commercial terms, Geely has set very aggressive targets, which include exceeding 6.5 million vehicles sold annually from 2030 onwards -including passenger cars and commercial vehicles-, which would represent an increase of 58 percent over the roughly 4.12 million vehicles sold in 2025.
Strong push towards electrification
Additionally, the document also mentions that the share of new energy vehicles (NEVs) -a category established in the Chinese market that covers battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, extended-range vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles- must exceed 75 percent of the total, compared with 56 percent last year, in 2025.
In this document, Geely also sets its sights on ranking among the world’s five largest car manufacturers by sales volume by the end of the decade. In 2025 it already reached seventh place globally, surpassing the four-million-unit barrier for the first time, and recorded 26 percent growth in total sales, the highest among the top ten manufacturers worldwide. Likewise, NEV sales grew 58 percent last year, approaching 2.3 million units.

Geely’s strategic plan also places particular emphasis on the internationalisation of its sales, with the aim that by 2030 more than a third of them should come from markets outside China.
Record revenue
Finally, on the financial front, Geely aspires to achieve revenue of more than one trillion yuan -almost 122 billion euros at the current exchange rate-, which would place the company among other major manufacturers such as Hyundai and BMW.
