Honda withdraws the e:Ny1 SUV from its European range

Weak sales figures and fierce competition have forced the Japanese brand to rethink its strategy on the continent.

Honda launched the all-electric e:Ny1 SUV in the European market in 2023, intending in this way to meet the growing demand for compact SUVs in the B-segment with a fully electric powertrain. However, barely two years later, this model is disappearing from the manufacturer’s range in several European countries.

Taking a look at the official Honda website for Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland and also Spain, we can confirm that there is no longer any trace of the e:Ny1 SUV. It has been removed entirely. As of today – and by that we mean the day this article was written, not the day it was published – only in France and Austria is it still possible to access the vehicle’s configurator. Although probably not for much longer, as everything suggests that Honda has decided to bring the commercial life of this model in Europe to an end.

The e:Ny1 was developed specifically for the European market on the e:N Architecture F platform, with front-wheel drive. It features an electric motor producing 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque, paired with a 68.8 kWh battery pack, thanks to which it can cover 412 km on a single charge under the WLTP homologation cycle. When it comes to recharging, the Japanese manufacturer, on the other hand, promises that it is possible to raise the battery level from 10 to 80 percent in 45 minutes. Figures that leave it somewhat behind some of its direct rivals, which probably explains its low acceptance among the public.

The reality facing Honda

The registration data for this model in the German market leave little room for doubt. In the whole of 2023 only 266 units of the e:Ny1 were registered in this central European country, 795 units in 2024, before dropping dramatically to just 105 units in 2025. Anticipating that these poor results could be even worse in 2026, the Japanese manufacturer has probably decided that the best option is to withdraw it from the market.

In any case, this last point is nothing more than speculation, since Honda has not given any explanation, nor has it made any statement on the withdrawal of the e:Ny1 from the European market. The reality, however, leaves little room for doubt.
